When he became the prime minister of Zimbabwe in 1980, he turned a country that had steady economic growth to a country in shambles. Racial relations between whites and blacks were the biggest problems in the country, and Mugabe tried to implement different ways to fix it, but as a result - Zimbabwe's economy suffered.
