<b>Cocinar en familia</b>

La actividad de cocinar siempre ha sido una actividad de amor, cuando elaboramos un delicioso plato lo hacemos con inspiración, ya sea para la familia o para nosotros mismos, y se convierte en momentos de alegrías. Todo este proceso inicia desde la selección de los alimentos que forman parte de la recena de nuestro plato, debido a que cada elemento es seleccionado amor, pensando en lo mejor.

Cocinar en familia es una actividad de aprendizaje, de cariño y de muchas emociones, tanta que las emociones forman parte de la receta que se seleccione. En este caso voy a compartir sobre la "Hallaca" y no se trata de recetas o de pasos, sino del significado de hacerlas en familia.

Cuando llega el mes de diciembre, casi de forma automática uno de nuestros primeros pensamientos es las celebraciones en familia, reuniones, amor familiar y un inmenso deseo de escuchar gaitas y disfrutar de la comida navideña y todo esto quizás para algunos también se transforma en tristeza por no poder compartir con sus seres queridos, debido a que tienen familiares que han despedido de este plano o se han ido del país, pero definitivamente en cualquier lugar donde nos encontremos, la hallaca es un símbolo de unión y amor.

When the month of December arrives, almost automatically one of our first thoughts is the family celebrations, reunions, family love and an immense desire to listen to bagpipes and enjoy Christmas food and all this perhaps for some also turns into sadness for not being able to share with their loved ones, because they have relatives who have fired from this plane or have left the country, but definitely in any place where we are, the saca is a symbol of union and love.

<b>El significado de la hallaca</b>

La hallaca la relacionamos directamente con el mes de diciembre, porque es un alimento particular y muy significativo. Cuando pensamos en hacer hallacas toda la familia se organiza y se pone en acción, elegimos una fecha y la familia se reúne a hacer su trabajo. Todo empieza desde lavar las hojas y se empiezan a dividir pequeños equipos, los que pican los vegetales para hacer el guiso, picar la carne, los que trabajan la masa, ese es el equipo de aceitar las hojas  de plátano y de aplastar, para ello nosotros aprendimos a hacerlo con una prensa y luego rectificar con una botella, que hace la función de rodillo.

En ese proceso, se escucha música de navidad, se comparte un brindis y generalmente se hace acompañado de unas cervezas bien frías. El día de hacer hallacas es un día de celebración, cada parte del proceso es importante.

Hacer hallacas, significa, amor familiar, pero en esta oportunidad nuestro núcleo no estaba completo casi que la mitad del equipo está fuera del país lo que se convirtió en una redistribución de cargas, por ello nuevos miembros de la familia se unieron a participar y aprender del proceso de hacer las hallacas y en este caso esos miembros fueron mis sobrinos de 17, 14 y 11 años de edad, lo que significó, compartir experiencias y enseñanzas, pero también hacernos de mucha paciencia, pero el amor en la cocina todo lo puede y además poder cocinar en compañía de mis sobrinos fue un momento hermoso, porque de alguna manera uno transmite sus experiencias y costumbres a los más pequeños.

Comapartir la tradición de hacer hallacas en familia es un momento maravilloso que es una gran oportunidad para transmitir costumbres a nuestros más pequeños y ellos lo disfrutaron mucho. Además se convertiran en recuerdos que vviran en su memoria por siempre y que estos serán compartidos con otros y es posible que con sus descendientes, así como hoy yo estoy haciendo.

Esta tradición de hacer hallacas, la aprendí desde la experiencia de mis abuelos maternos, mis abuelos hacian una fiesta el día de hacer hallacas y aunque yo no participaba por ser una niña pequeña, porque para esa época este trabajo de hacer hallacas era solo de adultos, pero eso fue cambiando en la medida que ibamos creciendo y poco a poco nos fueron involucrando y todos empezamos lavando las hojas.

El proceso de las hallacas, incluye lavar las hojas, secarlar, seleccionar y cortar las piezas que seran para estirar la masa y para envolver. El guiso de la hallaca es muy importante porque es el corazón de esta deliciosa comida, el sazón es que hace la diferencia, por ello es necesario disfrutar de sus sabores. Además se le agrega cebolla en rodajas, aceitunas, pasas, algunos le colocan huevo, pimentón y tiras de pimentón rojo, esto es cuestión de gustos, e incluso depende de la región del país donde se realiza la hallaca, cada uno le pone su propia ingrediente distintivo.
