Only if I could...

***Hi Ladies of Hive,***

***This is my entry for the Ladies of Hive Community Contest #40. I will be answering both questions.***

***The first one: I you could be any age again, what would it be and why?***

If I could go back in time, I would like to be 14 again. Maybe a bit of a strange age, because nobody likes to be a teenager, right?

And yet I would like to be 14 again. That's exactly the age when I was not in love with anyone 😆. No troublesome hormones or butterflies in my stomach.

That was the age when everyone was motivating me to become something great in society and I strongly believed that I could do that. Moreover, when I was 14, I was still very innocent. And what's better than going through life as an innocent?

I took an exam that year. I had the best results in my school and for that I was honored by many relatives and neighbors. I was allowed to go on a free plane ride over Paramaribo (the main city of our country) and I was invited to give a speech to a group of 250 people. These were things that, as a little girl from a poor family, I had never dreamed of. Everyone had great expectations of me at that time and I was assured that I would fulfill all my dreams.

Then I turned 15, fell in love, and became the awkward teenager who no longer cared about school. I came home with failing grades and sometimes even just stayed away from home. Of course, I became more mature and began to focus on studies again. But it seemed like I was never as motivated as that 14 year old. Especially not with the everyday grind that automatically comes as you become older.

I tried to think again like the 14 year old girl and feel what she felt. But I can't become that girl again, because the years have taught me that sometimes you can go to extremes to make your dreams come true, but if something is not meant to be, then you won't get it or become it. Sometimes the Universe lays out a different path for you. A path that may be better than you think.❤️

But yeah, if I could go back I would love to think and feel like that 14 years old Angela again. 😄 Cause she didn't need much to feel complete and happy. Andddd...she didn't had to pay her own bills ofcourse.🤣

***The second one: Recommend a movie you think we should watch.***

A movie that I saw a while back and that I will never forget is Adrift.
This is an American drama film based on a true story. I will not tell you about the plot of the movie (to avoid spoilers for people who have not seen it). But the reason why I recommend this movie is because this movie shows how we can fool our minds into not panicking in an emergency. By the way, the fact that this movie is based on a true story really touched my heart.

Your English is wonderful AND so is this post. 

14 was a great age. Before high school, before traumas for me, still bullied but not as much (it got bad in high school) 14 was a great age for me too! 

Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt post. And I've not seen Adrift. I will have to search for it. What is it about?

Wish I had seen this on time. 

If I could pick and age to go back to it would be...probably 10. My parents were divorced so no more violence in my home. I was doing well in school, had friends, had a bike. I got to swim every day. I loved it. 

And a movie....Hmmmm Just Go With It with Jennifer Anniston and Adam Sandler. It's so funny and I love them as an on-screen couple. Great for laughs and the kids are really funny in that movie too.

Adrift is about a couple who go sailing on the sea. Due to a hurricane, water goes into the boat and the man falls into the water. 
The movie is basically about how the woman is 41 days still alone at sea. The movie is about how she still survived after those 41 days.

10 sounds like an amazing age to be!😅 No worries back then ugh...

I don't know that movie (I'm not really a movie person, I usually read more). Bit I will look this one up for sure.

It's all good. I don't know what front end you use. But I used PeakD and I miss comments sometimes. And I go through each and every single notification. I find that Engage helps me keep up on my comments better though. That's why I don't reply right away because I wait until I have 100 notifications then I open engage and use it. @arcange made this awesome app for us to keep on top of the comments and I love it. I don't miss anything but I do reply later only because I like to batch my comments all at once. 

Oh sounds like a cool movie. I'll have to check it out. And I'm also not a movie person. well I put them on in the background but barely pay attention lol

How I hated my High school years, I had a Learning problem and one thing led to another giving me an anti-social label. How Ironic it is now.

@kerrislravenhill It's sad that you had to go through that. Some people say that their high school years were the best and then you have others for whom it was miserable. I hope you are much happier now though. I would say, what doesn't kills us  makes us stronger.😎 Sending you love. 💚🌻
