Hunting for Letter S

<center>This is my Alphabet Hunt Challenge organised by @barbara-orenya this week.  My mind is always a bit of a buzz when it goes into conjuring up the words for which ever letter it is.  And letter S was no exception, I am always entertained</center>

<center>As I live very close to the ocean in a beach community plenty of S words flew into my brain particularly during the outing for coffee and a brekkie wrap at Alexandra Headlands Surf Club. It is one of those very popular highly populated touristy beaches that attract lots of locals and holiday makers.  Always has!  And since it is currently the school holidays in Queensland lots of happy adults and children were either sunning themselves on the sand or swimming in the sea.   I had an ideal spot  in the shade of the umbrella in front of the hole in the wall cafe.</center>

<center>My number one photograph is my view of the choppy sea and sand under a cloudy blue sky as I sat eating my brekky wrap and drinking my coffee.</center>

<center>All big beaches where there are surf life guards we will find a surf rescue boat, a necessary piece of rescue equipment to pick up swimmers having trouble in the surf.  It is only when people decide not to swim within the flags that they put their lives at risk not understanding the danger they put themselves in.  On Monday a young mother did exactly this, swam at a small beach away from the lifeguards and got into trouble.  Once the alert went out and she was picked up by the lifeguards, she could not be resuscitated.  So sad.</center>

<center>Here is the icon the Alex Surf Club situated in the most ideal spot so ideally close to the sea and sand.  It feels like it has been here forever, so much history attached to this place.</center>

<center>Parked close to the Surf Club and all the action was this van of surfboards luring in interested adventurous individuals the opportunity of learning the skills of surfing.  I am thinking that there would be plenty of takers amongst the huge throng of people enjoying themselves this morning.   The holiday spirit permeated everywhere and maybe if I was younger I might have been tempted.</center>

<center>Walking away from the beach paths and into a local park area across the main road we came across some lovely black swans enjoying themselves.  So here is swan as my fifth word/photo for the Letter S. They were entertaining as they not only glided gracefully on the water but also did some bottom up diving for food.   We could not have timed it better. it was just at the right place and time.</center>

<center>And to finish off my Letter S water theme I am showing off my artwork creative piece I completed a number of years ago.   It made complete sense to me to show off my shell collection rather than hide them away in bags and buckets.</center>
