<center> ........ the experts such as the psychologists, psychiatrist and spiritual masters tell us.  As we all try to comprehend their words of wisdom we read that It is not what happens, good and bad, it is how the individuals choose to perceive what is said to them or the curve balls life throws  their way.  Understandably most of us need a moment to process the message!</center>


<center>It is true, even though one may wish to refute these words like 'how can I be the reason for the hardships that come my way?'  While another person may say 'other people have it much worse than me!'  Or some may just accept what happens knowing that the hard times will pass etc.</center>

<center>Why are their such wide variations in people's responses?</center>

<center>It is all dependent on a number of reasons like one's temperament, one's level of self-confidence and positiveness and one's spiritual understanding that lessons come along to teach and stretch us into better human beings.   An individual who is prone to explaining what happens to them in a negative poor me attitude is likely to find themselves down in the doldrums doing a lot of complaining.  Life is particularly hard for such a person.  In contrast another individual who is experiencing the same exact happening is likely to be having a much better time of it with a positive attitude we will get through this the best way possible.</center>

<center>Basically differences are an important inherent aspect of humans.  It is just is.  The good thing is that if individuals are perceiving hard times in a really negative way that affects mental health there are different levels of help available for them, starting with friends' positive words and actions to medical professionals.  We can all learn to deal with life in more positive ways whether it is through connections with supportive friends, family members or caring community organisations.</center> 

<center>Our current world pandemic has taught us the lesson, that everyone matters and even though we are needing to stay at a distance and may even be physically isolated there are still ways to communicate with each other.   They say that there will be a new norm emerging after this terrible virus goes away. I think the new norm is here.  Look at how we connect on phones, over the fence, through Zoom, What's app, FaceTime etc. giving messages of caring, fun and togetherness.   I know that I am not on my own with this.</center>
