Live life in the moderate lane, balance is the key, don't over do it, don't burn the candle at both ends etc. are cautionary warnings against over doing it. They are regularly handed out by health experts, psychologists and wise elders on current affair shows, magazine articles and on social media. There is no doubt that alerting against the dangers of over eating, over drinking, over spending and over partying behaviours etc. is done with the of best intentions, in the best interest of people's general well being? Does it depend on your age, level of maturity or personality to heed the information or not? Are you a party animal and don't want to ease off? If you are young and love partying or eating fast food why stop if you consider yourself healthy and well? You may think you have plenty of years before settling down to moderation sensibility. There is a huge variation on how people interpret information and their own perceptions? It all boils down to the choice factor. No-one can make us do anything we do not want to. This is one of our basic psychological needs that governs all behaviours of every person on earth. It is totally up to you, to follow sage advice or learn your way, the hard way, through trial and error? We all have to face consequences, both positive and negative. 'Everything in moderation' is the key to general health well-being, it is your choice as to when this takes place. For me, I am happy that I can sit and watch the sunsets with full knowledge that I at last have achieved a comfortable balance in my life. The stress has disappeared.
