<center></center> It seems that **Facebook** is closing group messaging services in **Facebook** after August 22, 2019. While there are a lot of alternative I feel a little bit sad since most of my online crypto friends usually hangout in our Facebook group chats. I am not sure if it is official but upon investigation some of my friends online also receive the message. I think this event is related to Facebook's **[Libra](https://libra.org/en-US/)** project that is headed by the same person who spearheaded the development of FB's messenger, David Marcus, whose name might sound familiar with some of you guys since he is the one who was grilled in Capital Hills During a congressional hearing was conducted to learn more about the crypto project of Facebook called **[Libra](https://libra.org/en-US/)**. This might be an early indication that Facebook is moving on with the project despite the strong push back it has encountered from regulators, law makers and some cryptocurrency pundits. Facebook might be forcing people to try out WhatsApp in lieu of group messaging services in Facebook. WhatApps is one of the primary applications that **[Libra](https://libra.org/en-US/)** plans to integrate with since they own that app. I could be wrong I would like to know if there are other steemians out there that is still using Facebook to confirm if there was such an announcement. Nonetheless I have made preparations for such events has I have already created an account in the blockchain-enhanced [Friendster](https://friendster.io/register?signup_referer=Ankarlie). <center></center> I have also created a WhatsApp group chat in preparation for the said event. I am not sure if [friendster.io](https://friendster.io/register?signup_referer=Ankarlie) has the capacity yet for many users. If you don't know about that no worries I will be writing about it soon. This might be hightime to learn how to use WhatsApp as it might be the first application that will use Libra and in the tradition of airdrops and bounties they might even incentivize people who joins WhatsApp in the future. I think Facebook already had more than enough data on all of us! I guess itโs a good thing that we spend time on other sites and migrate to other platforms thereโs always discord and telegram for chats! Never been a real user of messenger to be honest
