100k Hive is not that far | The Hive Manatee status
I've said this a few times before and you are probably fed up with this story, but since I keep banging my head against the wall every time I remember it, you're stuck with me and this story until I fix the mistake I made two years ago.

Two years ago I had almost 100k Hive but I had to sell due to the plandemic economic situation and because I was too stubborn and proud to get a job and I sold more than 50% of my hive stake. But now my long term goal of being a sort of manatee sized Hive holder is back in the horizon and I plan to get back on that level.

Reaching the level of Orca is too far away from me and as inflation keeps printing hive, the amount of tokens one needs to hold to be considered a whale keeps growing, and thus the amount of tokens needed to call myself an orca goes more into the distance.

I'm not happy being a dolphin, I think it would be an awesome feat and anyone should be proud and excited to hold enough Hive to be called a dolphin, but I think that given my current situation in terms of money is enough to strive to have 100k Hive again.

When will I reach this status? I have no idea. If the price of Hive continue to be at discount, I might be able to reach this manatee status in a year, probably even less but I don't want to be too ambitious. 

My crypto portfolio is well balanced, I no longer hold all my eggs in the hive basket, it hasn't proven to be the wisest move but at the same time, I still believe that Hive will 10x and probably even 50x in the next couple of cycles so, it's set, I am going to hold 100k Hive sooner or later.

I already have 60k Hive between my alts and my DeFi holdings. I could have it all powered up on my account and get myself a ticket to the dolphin support group - as I like to call it, where a lot of 100k+ Hive holders upvote each other at 100% following an *unspoken agreement of mutual support* - but well, I like my Farm yields too much and I just don't like that agreement that *it almost* makes it look like circle jerking. It isn't but it kinda looks like it. 

Regarding Leo Finance, I am sitting on a 150k token bag between farms and LeoPower. This puts me on the top50 holder list. which is exactly where I want to be. I won't stop stacking Leo any time soon, but I am currently at peace with the amount of tokens I hold. I will still power up every LPUD and every now and then I will buy tokens when they are at a sale, but I am no longer a frenzy buyer - although I may engage on the occasional lump sum buy every now and then. 

I am not looking at any other Layer2 token on Hive, not because they are not worth it - because there are some that are definitely worth at least a look - but because I don't have the time or the resources to expand or diversify my portfolio even more. I am already spread too thin in terms of time, money and knowledge to add more weight on any of these aspects. Maybe in the mid-term future I will buy into some Hive second layer tokens, but right now I am 100% on Leo Finance, and [I know it will pay off](https://leofinance.io/@anomadsoul/the-bullish-case-for-leofinance).

It's funny, I had never made a *Hive Goals* kind of post, maybe because I don't like disclosing this kind of things where you put yourself in the spotlight and hold yourself accountable, but I think it is a good way to *set it in chain* because you are pointing and naming that thing you are striving for, and we all know that setting hard deadlines and defined goals allow you to reach your goals faster.

100k give is attainable, you just have to put your mind into it. To a whale is everybody's goal but dolphin will do for me too

I hoped to reach 5k this year. It seems to be unlikely to happen. But at least I am making progress. Recently I bought a new pc so I hope that gaming content will help me reach that goal eventually.

I resonate with everything you've said here.

I NEED 100K HIVE!

So I currently have 50K safely powered up and everything else I now earn goes to more risky LPs designed to help me stack faster.

In the end it will all get cycled back into HP.

But right now, I've gotta make hay while the sun shines!

And boy is it shining.

I mean bHIVE:bHBD LP paying out 35% in a bear market? 

Splinterlands offering SWAP.HIVE:SPS APRs of 80%+ while killing it with external marketing/partnerships?

Too good to turn down!!

It's kinda hard really hard to move on from mistakes we had made in past but somehow we Gotta move on.

My regret is opposite by not selling a coin that I was all in (like all eggs in one bucket) and now it's more than  400% down !LOL that hurts.

But as far I think sooner or later you're Going to reclaim that status of yours.

Setting Goals really helps to reach there faster I totally agree with that though it's more like a coincidence I had wrote and published my hive Goals just few hours ago and it's also first time.

I earn 10k Hive per year by blogging. I have 40k. My goal is 100k. If the Hive price increase to 10 USD, I would have 1 million USD. Enough is enough :)

I started out as a Minnow myself. Now I have made it to 11,862 HP over the course of 5 years. There is a lot of things that can be achieved with perseverance.

Goals? Of course to be a Hive whale 😁. Half way there already, but now it gets tough. If Hive drops again to 10c, then maybe feasible.
BTW, I heard the first time about the Hive Manatee status, did you made this up?

I haven't set any goals the entire time I've been here.  Guess that's why I'm still in the kiddie pool lol

Good luck Eric - i am now going the route of powering down - not selling for fiat, still adding it to other DApps of the Hive ecosystem - I was an Orca not that long ago but now moving towards an area I will hardly remain a dolphin :-).

I understand your plight, same happened to me when I had 2 litecoins, out of lack and no funds for school fee, I had to sell it off to survive.


It's never been easy to actualize a goal. It's much more easier to call it out but how about achieving it.



One of the ways for me proven to work out for me is at first not even saying it out at all but rather having multiple plans to achieve my goals. 


If one should prepare only with a plan, there are possibilities of it falling off because the one plane prepared for can fail, but if it's plans rather then sure be it that it will scale through if determined and worked out for.



Nice article, we would all get there one day, but determination is the key.
