I was using another front-end rather than Ecency when I started to [join Hive](https://marklaurence.net/overview-how-to-write-and-earn-on-hive-beginners-guide/). I find it hard to navigate because of its complicated user interface – well, it was based on my experience when I was a newbie.

Until I found out that Dreemport will be having a collaboration with Ecency. I decided to explore it, then I realized that it is not that complicated. In fact, it has advantages compared to other front-end.

I heard about the Ecency points, then I continued to explore and dig more about it. The points caught my attention…we can earn points that will be beneficial for the users.

This blog is about the pros and cons of using Ecency. This is my honest feedback and review based on my experience.

By using Ecency, you will earn points called Ecency points. These are not tradeable and cannot be converted into cash.

But here’s the thing, you can use this for boosting and promoting your posts.

The points have an equivalent value and number of days. For example, you can promote your content for two days by consuming 250 points.

The price is expensive? No! because it is easy to earn points. By using Ecency, you will gain 0.250 points. By publishing posts, you will get 15 points, etc. To make it short, you will receive points for every activity that you will do.

It is a win-win situation…and it is more beneficial to you. You can grow your network and earn points that you can use for content promotion.

You see, you can also use it for boosting posts…and this is what I am amazed about. 

For your information, the amount of your vote value depends on your Hive power. But if you are a minnow, and have a few HP, the vote value is almost nothing.

But thanks to Ecency, you can still tip like a whale by boosting posts!

I am happy that I learned about these features of Ecency. And for me, it is one of the reasons why you should use it. I even like the color combination of blue and white (black – dark mode) background.

On the other hand, I found out that it is kind of laggy. I don’t know if I am the only one who is experiencing it. But sometimes, the images are not loading and are not visible. Even I refresh the website for how many times.

It is also lagging when I am writing and publishing. I can’t even put tags so I end up using another front-end every time I publish my blogs.

Also, it seems that boosting posts is not working well. I tried to boost someone’s post, but the points were refunded. Then I tried to boost my post and it was also refunded. I don’t know if there are rules about boosting but all of the boosted posts that I tried were refunded.

## Conclusion

Overall, using Ecency is a good one if you want to multiply your rewards: Grow your network while earning points.

It has a good and pleasant interface. You can even [download their mobile app](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.esteem.mobile.android) on PlayStore for a better experience.

So far, I am enjoying using it…it is what I am using for interaction except in publishing because I am getting an error and can’t put any tags.

This will serve as my feedback. If the bugs will be fixed, I think more Hiveians will use it.
