Winter is knocking at the door, at least in Europe, and inevitably, new questions are being asked in relation to the current situation. I think that unless you live in almost total autonomy, no one has failed to notice the increase in prices, inflation, whether it concerns food, raw materials or energy.
This article will focus on the latter category of energy, whether it is used for heating, cooking, lighting or to recharge various electronic devices. I won't necessarily deal with solar energy as I have almost no experience on the subject, but don't hesitate to share yours, that's also the purpose of this kind of article.
I had already done some research on this subject, but I hadn't gone much further. I didn't think it was worthwhile to equip myself then, but I've been thinking about it for some time now. The first element is a stove that transforms the calories of the fire into electricity. I had seen the [CampStove 2+](https://eu.bioliteenergy.com/products/campstove-2-plus) of the BioLite brand in a documentary as this company seems to have started with the primary aim of enabling people far from any grid to have energy. At the time, I think they barely had a website and they didn't have any products for sale, if I remember correctly, there was just fundraising to finance the project.

A few days ago, before leaving for the mountains in the south of France, in an outdoor equipment shop, completely by chance, I came across the improved version of the first prototype. The whole thing costs 160€, but I already found it cheaper on other websites... Apparently, it is possible to boil a litre of water with only about 40 grams of wood, all with a smokeless fire. The integrated battery is 3,200 mAh and the whole thing weighs less than a kilo, but you can find more information by going to the product sheet.

Will I buy it ? That's another question... If I have to talk in percentages, I would say 65% yes, but it depends on my further research and possibly on what you can teach me. Here's a [fairly comprehensive review of the Campstove models](https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/biolite-campstove-2.38283/) qui pourra vous aider dans votre propre analyse.

The second item I wanted to talk about is an LED lamp that can be recharged both by solar power and conventional electricity, but also with the dynamo of a crank. It is the [Goal Zero Lighthouse 600](https://boutique-goalzero.com/eclairages/15435-goalzero-lanterne-lighthouse-600-powerbank-usb-0847974008003.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiA4OybBhCzARIsAIcfn9koHBu7Pa_dJA1P1-sXt_ThgT8_cr9vLvO-47Tot_ZSZIle5fa0UQQaAjZgEALw_wcB). Again, I'll let you check out the technical details. But to make it short, the battery has a capacity of 5200 mAh, the light is 600 lumens and its autonomy goes from 3 hours to more than 300 depending on the intensity used. For the charging aspect, it takes about 5 to 6 hours whether by solar or domestic current, and by cranking, each minute recharges 10 minutes of light.
I've already bought two of these lights, one for a friend. Unfortunately, I still haven't received them, but it shouldn't be too long before I do.

<br>
The last elements that tempt me, always in a logic of foresight - *even if we always wish that everything goes well...* - are the charging power plants, like those of BioLite, GoalZero, Jackery and many others brands. **Again, if you have any experience with these rather powerful power banks in terms of both intensity and charging capacity, I would be particularly interested in your feedback !**
I hope that this article will have interested you and possibly nourished a part of reflections that you already carry out on your side. I'm repeating myself a bit, but don't hesitate if you have any advice or testimonies on this subject :D
I thank you for your visit and the time of your reading, very pleasant evening to you !
