Don't get me wrong, I'm not a car fanatic, but as I've just got my driving licence, I'm obviously more interested in cars than I was before. In fact, even before finding the car, we found the house in the country. 

On this side, the notaries are hard at work, and God knows they can be slow and fussy, but that's part of their job... and above all it's a different story from the one I wanted to share here !

No, in addition to a few images taken a fortnight ago in the south of France, this is a summary of the state of my current research. At the moment I'm at the very beginning, but it's already shaping up to be an obstacle course. To go back to the beginning, I took my driving test with an automatic gearbox and then, seeing that these cars were horrendously expensive in France, I thought it would be a good idea to take it as a manual. 

Indeed, in France, automatics aren't very common yet and now that I've got the licence to drive a manual, I've realized that they've also become particularly expensive.

Here, car manufacturers are fairly slow to supply new cars, so many people fall back on the second-hand market. You know as well as I do the principle of supply and demand, and so... well, prices automatically go up.

All in all, I must have a few thousand euros, a bit of cash and some precious metals... But these are my reserves in case of a hard blow and I can't part with them on a whim...

So I've come to wonder whether I shouldn't sell some Bitcoin, or some Hive. But the latter option would really break my heart. And even if it came to that, selling now is a bit short-sighted - *a euphemism for stupid ^^* - unless of course you have no choice at all, which is completely different. 

The model I'd like to find is a VW POLO, not too old, but not too new either. Firstly, so that the price isn't astronomical and secondly, so that there aren't too many electronics and so I don't have to worry about the mechanics. For a model of this type, I'd have to figure between €6000 and €9000 in the high end.

At today's prices, I'd have to part with 23K of Hive, or more than three quarters of what I have today, without of course counting any taxes I might have to pay. In any case, it's unthinkable and that's why I'm ahead of you, in case you want to tell me that my title is a bit fallacious.

The Hive cars on my account are clearly not for sale, that's not the idea I have in the back of my head at all, but if something goes wrong, we can use them as such. 

***No, what I'm looking for is if you have any ideas on how to find cheaper cars ?*** For a while I thought about looking for a car in Germany, where they're cheaper, but several people advised me against it as there was a lot of paperwork involved (I'm going to look into this option anyway). I'm also thinking of going to the countryside rather than the city, where everything is easily 10-15% more expensive. 

I don't really have many other ideas in mind and I'd be very curious to hear your reactions and any advice you might have :)

PS: I'm sorry I didn't find a Jaguar, it's the logo I'd have preferred to take a photo of... and also the type of car I'd really like ^^ !

Ne vous méprenez pas, je ne suis pas un fanatique de voiture et pourtant, comme je viens de récemment obtenir mon permis de conduire, forcément je m'y intéresse davantage qu'auparavant. En effet, avant même de trouver le véhicule, c'est la maison à la campagne que nous avons dénichée. 

De ce côté-ci, les notaires sont à l'oeuvre, et dieu qu'il peuvent être lents et tatillons, mais c'est un peu leur métier de l'être... et surtout c'est aussi une autre histoire que celle que je voulais partager ici ^^ !

Non, en plus de ces quelques images réalisées il y a deux semaines dans le sud de la France, c'est un résumé de l'état de mes recherches actuelles. Pour l'instant j'en suis au tout début, mais cela s'annonce déjà comme un parcours du combattant. Pour remonter à l'origine, j'ai passé mon permis en boîte automatique et puis voyant que ces voitures étaient horriblement chères en France, je me suis dis que c'était tout de même bien de le passer en manuel. 

En effet, en France, les automatiques ne sont pas encore très répandues et maintenant que j'ai le permis pour conduire une manuelle, je me suis rendu compte que celles-ci aussi étaient devenues particulièrement chères.

Ici les constructeurs automobiles sont assez lents à fournir des voitures neuves et donc beaucoup de gens se rabattent sur le marché de l'occasion. Vous connaissez comme moi le principe de l'offre et de la demande et donc... et bien les prix montent automatiquement.

En tout et pour tout, je dois avoir quelques milliers d'euros, un peu de cash et un peu de métaux précieux... Mais ceux-ci constituent mes réserves en cas de coup dur et je ne peux m'en séparer sur un coup de tête...

J'en suis donc arrivé à me demander si je ne devrai pas vendre un peu de Bitcoin, ou bien de Hive. Mais cette dernière option me fendrai réellement le coeur. Et puis même si j'en arrivais à de pareilles extrémités, vendre maintenant, c'est un peu avoir une vision court terme - *un euphémisme pour dire stupide ^^* - sauf bien sûr, s'il on a pas du tout le choix, ce qui complètement différent. 

Le modèle que je souhaiterai trouver serai une POLO de chez VW, pas trop ancienne, mais trop récente non plus. D'une pour ne pas avoir un prix astronomique et puis aussi pour ne pas avoir trop d'électronique et avoir donc accès à la mécanique. Pour un modèle de ce genre, il faut que je compte entre 6000 et 9000€ en fourchette large.

Au prix d'aujourd'hui, je devrai me séparer de 23K de Hive, soit plus des trois quarts de ce que j'ai aujourd'hui, sans bien sûr compter les taxes et les impôts éventuelles que je devrais débourser. Et puis de toute façon, cela est inenvisageable et c'est pour cela que je vous devance au cas où vous voudriez me dire que mon titre est un peu fallacieux.

Les Hive qui sont sur mon compte ne sont clairement pas à vendre, ce n'est pas du tout l'idée que j'ai derrière la tête, mais si en cas de coup dur, on peux les utiliser comme tel. 

***Non, ce que je cherche davantage, c'est si vous avez des idées pour trouver des voitures moins chères ?*** J'ai un temps pensé à aller chercher une voiture en Allemagne où elles sont moins chères, mais plusieurs personnes m'ont déconseillé cette option comme il y avait beaucoup de paperasse à faire (je vais quand même creuser cette option). Je pense aussi aller chercher à la campagne plutôt qu'en ville où tout est facilement plus cher de 10 à 15%. 

Je n'ai pas vraiment beaucoup d'autres idées en tête et je serai très curieux de vos réactions et éventuels conseils avisés :)

PS: je regrette de ne pas avoir trouvé de Jaguar, c'est un peu le logo que j'aurais préféré prendre en photo... et puis aussi le type de voiture que j'aimerai bien ^^ !
