In today's post I am going to talk about a technique that I believe is a valid one in order to increase wealth through a portfolio diversification.

As some of my followers know, I am an economist, and I've been studying a lot cryptocurrencies, the market itself and other assets, to be able to build up the best (and most effective) portfolio possible.

Today I was watching some videos about gold and Bitcoin, and I decided to write this post about those two assets.

Well...both Bitcoin and gold are known as a store of value. This happens because of their scarcity. Fiat currencies only have their face value accredited, because people still think that physical money has value, as well as most governments force people to accept it as means of payment. 

My opinion is: people are losing faith in fiats, because of the quantitative easing process, which is the combination of lowering interest rates by the central banks around the world, as well as the infinite capacity of printing new money out of thin air.

So... because of this mechanism, I believe we'll soon face another economic crash and fiat currencies will be worthless.

Is there a way to protect our wealth in this case?

The answer (in my opinion) is a big and fat YES!!

We can call up on to Bitcoin and physical gold (btw I believe Bitcoin is better than gold). Both are ways to protect wealth because of their finite supply (nature cannot produce more gold than Planet Earth already has, and Bitcoins have a maximum supply (and its production rate is controlled by the halving processes)).

So the smartest move in my opinion is to acquire Bitcoin (through mining, trading or even arbitrage process), and slowly move a part of the profits into physical gold.

Some of you might ask me: well, ok... it makes sense, but how are we able to purchase gold?

There are many ways to purchase and store gold. The most common one is via fiat currencies. But nowadays there's also the option of buying gold directly with Bitcoins (and also pay for the gold bars custody as well).
