A Walk With Thoughts About The History of My City

*Greetings, friends.*
A beautiful sunny warm August evening. I have a couple of hours after a hard day's work to walk along the city embankment. I'm waiting for my daughter. Her working day ends at 19:00, after that we go home with her. These evening delays in the regional center make it clear to me that summer will end soon. When my daughter and I arrive home, the sun is already hiding behind the horizon and dusk is falling.
But it's still light, there are a lot of people walking along the Embankment, young musicians are singing, and this lifts my mood.

Mosque.
When did she appear in our city? It seems to me that not even 10 years have passed yet.
There are quite large Tatar, Dagestani, and Azerbaijani diasporas in Kirov and the region, which is why they built this mosque. 
When I was on a trip to Dagestan, I did not notice a large number of mosques. But there are really a lot of them in Abu Dhabi!

This chapel is located about 200 meters from the mosque. She's been standing here for a long time. Several hundred years. It was originally made of wood and was built in memory of the unfortunate only military battle in our city at the beginning of the XV century. It was an internecine battle between Ustyuzhans and Vyatchans. Soviet history presents this battle as an accidental nighttime misunderstanding between the allies, but in reality everything was different. But at the moment I will not go into the history of the city, especially so far away.

The rotunda. This is one of the most popular places among city residents on the Embankment. Here you can meet couples of different ages in love. Rotundas are very popular buildings on the Volga and Vyatka rivers.

Yesterday, I was also waiting for my daughter and walked along the Embankment. I wanted to visit this building, but I forgot to do it. Today I implemented my plan. It's an interesting building, but I know absolutely nothing about its history. Currently, this building houses a children's sports school. And that surprised me. In my town of Slobodsky, a similar sports school was located in a large church for a long time, but 20 years ago the building was returned to Christian believers and now it is undergoing renovation. But this building was not returned to the faithful, although domes with crosses were installed at the top of the building. Most likely, this building was part of a convent until 1917.
During my student years, I saw that the monastery walls were missing. At the beginning of the century, a brick monastery wall appeared on the riverside. The north side is also equipped, but the other 2 sides are fenced with ordinary metal corrugated board.  I want to study this issue in more detail.

На этом здании даже нет таблички, что оно представляет историческую или архитектурную ценность и охраняется государством. Скорее всего, есть понимание, что это здание нужно будет отдать в церковное управление, поэтому городская Администрация не следит за его состоянием.

It is painful and insulting to see all this in my hometown of Kirov and in other small towns in the region. We travel to other cities to see beautiful churches and visit museums, but in my city, I see that I can only show my friends destroyed or crumbling buildings. These houses have seen the history of the city, but they need to be renovated and maintained in a beautiful way. Am I getting old? When I was younger, I didn't think about it.

When I was near this building, a group of 3 young people looked at it with interest. They were obviously not locals. Although it seems to me that not even all Kirov residents know about this building. My wife has definitely never seen him before. But my youngest daughter was here.
