*Hi, @nelinoeva*. How are you?
I have 2 pieces of news. One is good, the other is also great.
Real warmth has come to us. Yesterday and today, the thermometer read +17 degrees. Migratory summer birds came to visit me: Goldfinches and Siskins.
Last spring, these birds also flew to my bird feeder. 
What do I know about finches? Oh yeah, there is a Russian rock band with the same name that I really like: "Chizh."

It is widespread in Eurasia, as a rule, in coniferous forests. Siskins are often kept at home, in cages, for the sake of their singing.
The body is about 12 cm long and weighs 12-15g. The general color is greenish-yellow or olive-green, with indistinct dark spots, with yellow spots below. The base of the tail feathers and most of the flight feathers is yellow. The beak is grey. The male differs from the female by a cap of black feathers on his head.
It feeds on insects (aphids and other small insects) and seeds of coniferous and deciduous trees.

What does this little bird eat? I see that sunflower seeds are a universal food for birds. Even woodpeckers, crows and magpies come for them.
This year, I spent about 200 kg of sunflower seeds on food at an average price of 75 rubles per kg. Total - 15,000 rubles. That's about $170. Let's try to determine in Hive at the current exchange rate?

>This species can be spotted across Europe & Euro siberian all year round, making it very common throughout these regions and easy to spot. 

Our region may be considered a European zone, but often the weather rules for the distribution of birds and animals are not very suitable for us. Common European birds are uncommon for us. I know that many people have never seen a Siskin.

Yes, the soil under the tree with feeders is covered with a thick layer of seed peelings. But small finches are looking for small pieces of seeds on the ground, which are left over from feeding birds sitting on a tree.

A cheerful flock of these little yellow mischievous birds made my mood cheerful for 2 days.
The bird canteen will be closed this week until the beginning of November. But my stories about birds don't end there.
