# Intro

I have been playing the Exode Alpha for some time now, I actually started playing when @Elindos released the browser version, where it was not linked to anything, and had several bugs. ***Back in those days... actually was probably just around a few weeks ago lol***. Anyways, I have been testing out the different versions since then and there are more options with each release. So today I have decided to create a **tutorial/Strategy Manual** for the evacuation part of the game.

## Disclaimer: The game is currently in Alpha, and will be updated consistently, so this tutorial may not be applicable going forward. So use at own risk!

# Strategy Manual

---
The tutorial is directed towards new users of the game, and even users who have played the game before but was very confused of what is going on. If you are an experienced player, then this may not be as useful for you. 

This Strategy Manual will include screenshots of the actual gameplay and what my thought process is during the game. Once you go through it, you might be able to improve your score. **So lets get to it. To play and excel in a game, it is important to know what the end result (objective) is first.**

## Objective of the Game
**Get the highest score possible!!!**

This is one of my previous games. It is a decent score, but certainly can be improved. **What are the main contributors to the score:**
1. Cargo - You get 50 points for each cargo loaded
2. Citizens - You get 100 points for each citizen escorted
3. Surviving under Threat - the more time  you survive, the higher you score high
4. Penalty - You lose 150 points for every crew/officer that you Lose.

# Summary of the Strategy Manual - The Apprentice Dragon Tactic

**Maximise Cargo, Maximise Citizens Rescue, Dont lose any crew/officer, last long and evacuate successfully**


## MMDL Strategy - Summary
- Get at least 1-2 Crew/officer to install **Hyperdrive**
- Get at least 2- 3 Crew/officer to load cargo
- Get at most 2 crew/officer to escort citizen
- Get at least 2-3 Crew/officers to work on the shield of the Ship (Brain-wired)
- Get the rest to load fuel 

***The ship needs to upgrade the Hyperdrive to evacuate***

## 1. Game Start - Beginninng

**Note: Notice in the top right corner that there is a countdown of 256 seconds**
This is not the time for you to go get a cup of exopresso or to check social media on your phone. 
You need to use these seconds properly. For new users, also dont be impatient and Click on "Dock" to start the Evacuation.

## So What Should you do during this time?

Click on **Crew Manifesto**:

This currently depends on luck, but if you have Ready for the **3 officers** and Ready for the **7 crews**, you are very lucky.

Most of the times, you will have people **on Leave** and **Infirmary**. Check how many are on leave and have an idea of how many people you will need to **"call back"** during the game.  (This is explained later)

Also on this page, I would click on the **Maintenance Engineer** to see his/her **Stats**

Maintenance Engineers are generally very quick at installing **HyperDrive**, and I would assign him/her to upgrade Hyperdrive, *unless he/she is B or A grade in Manual skills/Dexterity, and spawns in cockpit, then I would equip him/her with armor and load cargo.*

In addition, I would check the stats of all the other crews/officers, and note the ones with A or B grade in Manual skills/Dexterity. If they do and spawn in cockpit, equip with armor immediately and load cargo. 

If the crew/officer has A or B grade in Comms Evaluation, then I will armor them and send them to escort citizen.

If the crew/officer's roles is trooper, then equip with **FMR-17 Atonis**

**NB: There are only 3 Personal Weapons and 3 Armor Suits. So Choose carefully!**

## 2. Time Ran Out... Lets Star the Game!

This is the first screen you will see. This is the **cockpit**

**NB: If you are a new user, there is an ingame tutorial which is interactive and useful. Please do not skip it. If you are experienced then skip it**

So We have 6 crew/officer in the cockpit, this is generally not a bad thing. However, 2 crews are not present. If it is green **(Comms Online)**, and tell them to get back. If the status is Red, you will need to instruct another present crew/officer to call them back. Do that immediately.

**Lets check the other rooms!**

**Station Hall:**

**Oh No**, This is probably the worst thing to have. I have 3 crews with **(Comms offline)**. This means I will need to instruct 3 people from cockpit to call these crews back. **And that will waste a lot of time** - But we have no choice.

Okay I deployed 3 crews from cockpit.

Now I only have 3 crews/officers left in cockpit, and I now armor up the crews/officer with the strongest stat in Manual skills/Dexterity

One crew is equipped, the 2 others are in the process of equipping.
I then immediately send armored crews/officers straight to collect cargo!

**2 Cargos collected** - **100 Points**

Okay Interception chances are still 100%, it means I dont have to worry yet, as the Squadron may assist me when required. If the number is low, I will need to work on the shield of the ship or prepare to launch.

## 3. Alarm Sounding - Alien Attack!

**Station Hall**:

**This is a very bad position to be in**, I have 3 crews calling back the crews that are on leave. I have a 4th crew that is escorting a citizen.

**I have the others collecting cargo. No one is in cockpit to initiate the Ship armor, the ship is going to take damage!**

**yep, the Ship took damage! Remember the ship only has 60 integrity points. It now only has 41 points

## In cockpit

Okay so I moved 4 crews to the cockpit to activate armor. However, they are still taking their time strolling.

**The Ship only has 18 Integrity points left. ExoWhat!!!**


*Thought process - I need to rush the action*   -  was it the correct action?

## No!
*When you rush a crew during an action, you reduce their stress health. In this case, that rush completely depletes the purple stress health of Crew Wahi. We have lost her.* 
**This is a penalty of 150 points**

***Brain-wired to shields means they are concentrating on activating the shield armor. However, it reduces their stress health***

## Prepare for Launch

Interception Chance has reduced to 23%. Ship Integrity points is 18. 
It was not the best game, but it is time to Launch!

**Results: 1097 (Average Score - Not a good score but at least it was a success)**
- 750 points for Cargo (15 cargo loaded)
- 100 points for citizens (1 citizen escorteed)
- 397 point for suriving under threat (not sure what time)
- -150 for crew member lost (1 crew lost)

That ends our Tutorial and a very high level of the strategy. Keep trying out the game if you got time and you will get better at the game. Have fun and Enjoy.
