This post is an entry for this Weekend's Engagement Concept by @galenkp. Thank you so much for bringing up such amazing topics once again. 
My post is based on the topic "Do you collect anything and if so what is it, why and when did you begin the collection? "

Not long ago, I developed a keen interest in reading. I saw the need to embark on a personal development journey. Due to this newly found passion, I began to purchase books. I had to figure out a favourable purchase plan because I could not afford all the books I needed at a go. The best way I identified to start my collection was to purchase a book at the end of every month. 
It has been about five months already and I have been able to collect five (5) personal development books. I am on the verge of finishing most of the books and I can boldly say I have seen a magnificent improvement in my life with respect to the way I communicate, negotiable and respond to some emotions.

The first book that made it's way into my collection was The Cashflow Quadrant by Robert T. Kiyosaki. After Robert told the story of how he was brought up in his book Rich Dad Poor Dad, he recommended The Cashflow Quadrant as the next read. In this book, he tries to digest the differences between the four (4) financial strata which we commonly find ourselves in: the employee, the self-employed, the business owner and the investor. He emphatically states the fact that each of us is found in at least one of these sects. Definitely they are in ranks as are we humans. From highest to bottom; the investor, the business owner, the self-employed and the employee. We being divided poses a struggle of wanting to climb to the next level. The Cashflow Quadrant provides the best solution to this need. It compels us to take the necessary action to make sure we are in the Quadrant we want to be. The practicability of this book is what I love so much about it. You do not just read, there are step by step approaches to what you want. I will definitely recommend it for people who are interested in expanding their financial empire.

The next book I got was "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. The author talks about the secret to becoming rich. He hides not the source of this secret. Andrew Carnegie had tossed it into his mind when he was but a boy. To understand the full extent of the secret he was told, Napoleon had to spend almost 20 years of his life interviewing already successful people to find out the secret of their vast wealth. To his surprise, it was the same secret he was thought when he was just a little boy. 
In a well explained thirteen (13) step process, Napoleon explains how one can think himself into riches. All he is trying to do is to make the reader prepare his mind to become rich. This includes going though the thirteen steps one after the other, which includes Desire, Faith, Autosuggestion and many others.

The third book I got as part of my collection was "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. As the name suggests, the book helps to change the way you handle situations so as to win people's hearts and favours. With practical examples and real life experiences, Carnegie explains with simplicity the best ways to establish conversations with people and ultimately be a good conversationalist. In a four part text, Dale Carnegie shares what he or his friends did to basically become loved by everyone around them. For most people searching for ways to become good leaders, I will definitely recommend this book. Even though all the lessons can make you a good leader, the part four (4) is specifically dedicated to leadership. 



The fourth book I have in my collection is "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne. I must confess. Rhonda Byrne is one of my favourite authors. Her works are so practical that you immediately see a turn in your life once you start practicing what she says. What Rhonda Byrne calls her secret is the law of attraction. Collaborating with other great and famous people especially authors, they all share what they know about the law of attraction and what it has brought into their lives. One of my mentors, Lisa Nichols also shared her thoughts on this amazing law. I have come to finally believe and accept the existence of the law of attraction. To me, it is something we cannot do away with. Just as nothing can be done about the law and force of gravity, nothing can be done about the law of attraction- it is nature. To get a deeper understanding of this law, I will recommend "The Secret" to all and sundry.

The final book I have in my collection for now is the Holy Qur'an. It is actually the translated type by Abdullah Yusuf Ali. I am sure most of us here have heard about the Holy Qur'an. It is the word of Allah that was revealed to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) through the Arch Angel Gabriel for the guidance and positive transformation of mankind. I realised that in order to be fully developed personally as I envision, I cannot do away with my own morals. I found the Holy Qur'an as the option to help shape my life based on what God wants. I will sincerely recommend that everyone should get a copy of the Holy Qur'an and read it whenever they want to. It is open for all humankind and anyone at all can read it.
