# <center>Values Are Down... But Not As Much As You May Think</center>

With the value of HIVE back around 20 cents, it’s no surprise that the situation on Splinterlands, in terms of the absolute value of assets, isn’t as positive as [last month](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@arc7icwolf/engita-niiiice-net-worth-over-300-dollars).

My investment activity continues uninterrupted, with small changes introduced from time to time, mostly based on advice from other Hive users, to keep things interesting and try to improve my strategy wherever possible.

In addition to owning cards, which I rent out, and SPS, which I delegate, my Splinterlands portfolio now includes two more positions:

* a [small stake](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@arc7icwolf/engita-ive-become-a-merchant-on-splinterlands-providing-liquidity-to-the-dec-grain-pool) in the DEC-GRAIN liquidity pool, and
* several thousand [DEC converted into HIVE](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@arc7icwolf/engita-taking-some-risks-to-get-bigger-gains) waiting for a pump of the latter token.

This allows me not only, as I said, to have a bit more “fun” — because experimenting with new earning strategies is always fun — but also to further diversify my investment, so that a drop in the value of a single asset weighs less overall on my entire Splinterlands position.

To keep track of the value of my investment from now on, I can no longer simply indicate the value of my collection and the tokens I hold (DEC and SPS), but I’ll also need to account for these other elements to continue having, each month, a realistic and truthful “snapshot” of the value of all my assets.

## <center>Cards</center>

Using Peakmonsters, the value of my cards is **currently** around 191 dollars.

**Last month**, the value of my collection was about 213 dollars.

That’s a drop of over 20 dollars, mainly due to the overall decline in value that has affected Hive and everything related to it — including Splinterlands.

The end of the hype surrounding the release of the Conclave Arcana set also surely plays a role in this situation, although I trust my cards will more or less maintain at least this level of value, as they remain essential for playing competitively in the Modern Format.

## <center>Tokens</center>

As for tokens, things are worse... but not as bad as they might seem at first glance!

**Currently**, the value of my tokens amounts to 77.12 dollars.

**Last month**, their value was 107.12 dollars.

Forty dollars less is a lot… but this is where the new forms of “investment” I’m experimenting with come into play and help offset the devaluation to some extent.

In fact, I have:

* a reserve of nearly 50 HIVE (converted from 10,500 DEC):

* a very small stake in the DEC-GRAIN pool (obtained by investing 2,000 DEC):

Overall, we’re talking about ten dollars that add to the value of the tokens I hold and reduce this month’s loss by about 10 dollars.

## <center>More assets, more variety, more resilience</center>

A 50-dollar drop is still a significant decrease, but it could have been much worse: further diversifying my assets might already be having a positive effect, although I think the bigger results will show over the medium term.

My reserve of 50 HIVE (which I’ll definitely increase), that I plan to convert into HBD — if I don’t find anything worth buying in the meantime — or back into DEC, could, for instance, allow me to make a small but meaningful leap forward, if HIVE sees a decent price increase in the coming months, even if it’s only temporary.

These low prices also represent opportunities — at least for me, as I’m still trying to grow the number of assets I hold: converting DEC to SPS is, for example, much more profitable now than it was a few months ago and allows me, every 15 days, to purchase about 120 SPS, which add to the ones I already have saved, further increasing my staking rewards.

In short, despite the negative month… the situation isn’t all that bad.

# <center>Valori Giù... Ma Non Così Tanto Come Potresti Pensare</center>

Con il valore di HIVE di nuovo intorno ai 20 centesimi non c'è da sorprendersi se anche su Splinterlands la situazione, in termini di valore assoluto degli assets, non sia positiva quanto [il mese scorso](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@arc7icwolf/engita-niiiice-net-worth-over-300-dollars).

La mia attività di investimento prosegue ininterrotta, con piccole variazioni che vengono introdotte di tanto in tanto, soprattutto su consiglio di altri utenti di Hive, per tenere vivo il mio interesse e cercare di migliorare, laddove possibile, la mia strategia.

Oltre a possedere carte, che noleggio, e SPS, che delego, adesso il mio portafoglio su Splinterlands include infatti altre due posizioni:
- una [piccola partecipazione](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@arc7icwolf/engita-ive-become-a-merchant-on-splinterlands-providing-liquidity-to-the-dec-grain-pool) nella liquidity pool DEC-GRAIN e
- alcune migliaia di [DEC convertiti in HIVE](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@arc7icwolf/engita-taking-some-risks-to-get-bigger-gains) in attesa di un pump di questo secondo token.

Ciò mi consente non solo, come dicevo, di "divertirmi" un po' di più, perchè sperimentare nuove strategie di guadagno è sempre divertente, ma anche di diversificare un po' di più il mio investimento, così che il calo di valore di un qualche assets pesi meno, nel complesso, sulla mia intera posizione su Splinterlands.

Per tenere traccia del valore del mio investimento d'ora in poi non potrò più solo indicare il valore della mia collezione e dei token che possiedo (DEC ed SPS), ma dovrò anche tenere conto di questi altri elementi, così da continuare ad avere, ogni mese, una "fotografia" realistica e veritiera di quello che è il valore di tutti i miei assets.

## <center>Carte</center>

Utilizzando Peakmonsters il valore delle mie carte risulta **attualmente** pari a circa 191 dollari.

Il **mese scorso** il valore della mia collezione era invece pari a circa 213 dollari.

Un decremento di oltre 20 dollari, dovuto più che altro al calo di valore generale che ha coinvolto Hive e tutto ciò che gli ruota attorno, Splinterlands incluso.

La fine dell'entusiasmo legato al rilascio del set Conclave Arcana gioca altresì sicuramente un ruolo in questa situazione, anche se confido che le mie carte mantengano un valore più o meno sempre almeno in questo range, dato che per giocare nel Modern Format in maniera competitiva restano comunque fondamentali.

## <center>Tokens</center>

Lato tokens le cose vanno invece sono peggio... ma non come potrebbe sembrare a prima vista!

**Attualmente** il valore dei miei tokens ammonta infatti a 77.12 dollari.

**Il mese scorso** il loro valore era invece pari a 107.12 dollari.

40 dollari in meno sono tanti, tantissimi... ma è qui che entrano in gioco le nuove forme di "investimento" che sto sperimentando e che, in parte, mitigano questa svalutazione.

Ho infatti:

- una riserva di quasi 50 HIVE (convertiti da 10.500 DEC):

- una piccolissima quota di partecipazione nella pool DEC-GRAIN (ottenuta investendo 2.000 DEC):

Nel complesso si tratta di una decina di dollari che si aggiungono al valore dei token che possiedo e che riduce di circa 10 dollari la diminuzione registrata questo mese.

## <center>Più assets, più varietà, più resilienza</center>

50 dollari in meno sono comunque una diminuzione importante, ma poteva andare decisamente peggio: diversificare ulteriormente i miei assets potrebbe già star producendo qualche effetto positivo, anche se gli effetti maggiori credo che si vedranno sul medio termine.

La mia riserva di 50 HIVE (che sicuramente aumenterò ulteriormente), che voglio convertire in HBD - se non trovo niente da acquistare sul momento - o in DEC potrebbe, ad esempio, consentirmi di fare un piccolo ma importante balzo in avanti, se HIVE avesse, da qui a qualche mese, un aumento di prezzo decente, anche se solo temporaneo.

Questi prezzi bassi poi rappresentano anche delle opportunità, almeno per me che cerco di incrementare ancora il numero di assets in mio possesso: convertire DEC in SPS è ad esempio molto più proficuo adesso di quanto non fosse qualche mese fa e mi consente, ogni 15 giorni, di acquistare di nuovo circa 120 SPS, che si aggiungono a quelli che ho già da parte, incrementando così le mie ricompense da staking.

Insomma, la situazione, nonostante il mese negativo... non è poi così negativa.
