# <center>What Are The Hive Games I'm Still Playing?</center>

One of the things I follow most closely on Hive are Hive-based games, both because I'm a video game enthusiast, and because I believe Hive is an ideal environment for their development—much more so than many other, far more well-known blockchains.

Having zero fees allows anyone to interact with a Hive Game without the constant concern of paying small amounts that, over time, might turn out not to be so small after all.

On Hive, it’s possible to buy or sell NFTs, transfer tokens, receive rewards, play matches, and record any other type of information on-chain without any cost to the user—or to the team behind the game.

Not only that, Hive’s speed makes all of these operations practically instantaneous, eliminating annoying wait times and allowing every player to focus their time on what really matters… playing!

On the other hand, however, Hive has one major limitation: it has a small user base—especially when compared to the giants of the industry—so the games available often end up being "games" just in their name.

What I mean is that several Hive Games are either idle games—which I struggle to consider true games—or they go through a very troubled development process, slow and with budgets that at some point prove insufficient to deliver a finished, high-quality, and fun product.

Because of this, and though it pains me, over time I've had to say goodbye to several of the games I had started playing, and the list of those I actively play (or invest in) has steadily shrunk.

Today, there are only 3 Hive Games that I play (or invest in) on a daily basis: **Splinterlands**, **Golem Overlord**, and **Crownrend**.

I could also add **HoloZing** to this list, but that title is still completely under development, so I'm note sure I can consider it a game, for now.

Compared to a few months ago, I’ve stopped playing **Rising Star**, although I still own all the NFTs I purchased over time.

Two notable absences that a Hive Games expert, like our @libertycrypto27, might pick up on are **dCrops**, one of the longest-running Hive Games, and **MOON**, which launched just a few months ago: the first I never found the time to get into (which I regret, since I’ve only ever heard great things about it), while the second seems promising from what little I’ve seen—but maybe too complex for the time I can dedicate to a game.

## <center>Right, time</center>

Because, in the end, the main factor I have to rely on when deciding whether to start—or continue—playing a game is really the time I have available.

These days, I find it increasingly difficult to carve out time for Hive Games, and it’s no coincidence that I’m only active on a handful of them:

* **Splinterlands**, because I'm only an investor
* **Golem Overlord**, because it’s partly an idle game and partly requires very little energy and focus to play a few rounds in Conquest mode
* **Crownrend**, because for now it’s just an idle game

So basically, I manage to play 3 Hive Games... because they don’t actually require me to play 😅

And on one hand, **that’s convenient**, because I can continue following a few of them and try to make some gains, **but also a bit sad**, because it means the other games don’t intrigue or inspire me enough to find the time and motivation to play them.

# <center>Quali Sono gli Hive Games Che Sto Ancora Giocando?</center>

Una delle cose che seguo con più interesse su Hive sono i giochi Hive-based, sia perchè sono da un amante dei videogiochi, sia perchè ritengo che Hive sia un ambiente ideale per il loro sviluppo, molto più di tante altre blockchains ben più note.

Avere commissioni pari a zero consente infatti a chiunque di interagire con un Hive Game senza timore di trovarsi a pagare costantemente piccole somme che, nel tempo, potrebbero rivelarsi, tutte insieme, poi non così tanto piccole.

Su Hive è possibile acquistare o vendere NFT, trasferire token, ricevere ricompense, giocare partite ed iscrivere ogni altro tipo di informazione sulla chain senza che questo comporti alcun costo per l'utente, nè per il team dietro al gioco.

Non solo, la velocità di Hive rende tutte queste operazioni praticamente immediate, eliminando noiosi tempi di attesa e consentendo ad ogni giocatore di dedicare il proprio tempo a ciò che più conta... ossia giocare!

D'altra parte, però, Hive ha un grosso limite: è una chain con poca utenza - soprattutto rispetto agli altri giganti del settore - per cui anche i giochi disponibili sono spesso giochi solo di nome, ma non di fatto.

Questo nel senso che diversi Hive Games sono o soltanto degli idle games - che fatico a considerare giochi nel verso senso del termine - oppure hanno percorsi di sviluppo molto travagliati, lenti e con budget che, ad un certo punto, si rivelano insufficiente per arrivare a consegnare agli utenti un prodotto finito, valido e divertente.

Per questo, anche se a malincuore, nel tempo ho dovuto dire addio a diversi dei giochi a cui avevo iniziato a giocare e la lista di quello che gioco (o in cui investo) attivamente si è così sempre più ridotta.

Oggi sono infatti soltanto 3 gli Hive Games che quotidianamente gioco (o su cui investo), ossia **Splinterlands**, **Golem Overlord** e **Crownrend**.

A questo lista potrei anche aggiungere **HoloZing**, ma si tratta di un titolo ancora completamente in via di sviluppo.

Rispetto a qualche mese fa ho invece smesso di giocare a **Rising Star**, sebbene possieda ancora tutti gli NFT che ho acquistato nel tempo.

Due assenze insolite che invece un esperto di Hive Games, come il nostro @libertycrypto27, potrebbe notare sono **dCrops**, uno dei più longevi Hive Games, e **MOON**, lanciato solo da pochi mesi: il primo non ho mai trovato il tempo di iniziarlo (cosa di cui mi dispiace perchè ne ho solo e sempre sentito parlare molto bene), mentre il secondo sembra un gioco promettente, da quel che poco che ho visto, ma forse troppo complesso per il tempo che posso dedicare ad un gioco.

## <center>Già, il tempo</center>

Perchè, alla fine, il criterio principale a cui devo affidarmi per decidere se iniziare, o continuare, a giocare ad un gioco è soprattutto il tempo che ho a disposizione.

In questi mesi infatti sto trovando sempre più difficile destinare del tempo agli Hive Games e non è infatti un caso che sia attivo solo una manciata di essi:
- **Splinterlands**, perchè mi limito ad investire
- **Golem Overlord**, perchè in parte è un idle game ed in parte mi richiede davvero poche energie e concentrazione per giocare qualche partita nella modalità Conquest
- **Crownrend**, perchè per ora è solo un idle game

In pratica, quindi, riesco a giocare a 3 Hive Games... perchè non mi richiedono di giocare 😅

E questo da una parte **è comodo**, perchè posso così continuare a seguirne alcuni e cercare di farli fruttare, **ma anche un po' triste**, perchè significa che gli altri giochi non riescono ad invogliarmi o affascinarmi abbastanza da trovare il modo ed il tempo per giocarci.
