Are You Afraid Of Death?

<h1>Is it just pure human instinct that we are fearful of death as it is that impending doom that we are continuously running towards despite our efforts to prolong our lives and run away from it?</h1>

<h3>Why We Should Not Be Fearful?</h3>

One side of me doesn't fear death all that much if I'm frank about it.

I see it as a sort of blessing in some small way in that it makes our lives and what we do so much more important, knowing we have such little time on this earth before we die, and realises that the few times in my life where I have felt the most alive are the few times that I thought I was about to die.

Honestly, I'm not. Death is an inevitable occurrence in life. Instead of thinking of it as something wrong, I have just embraced the thought of it being inevitable.

Don't get me wrong; there were times when I was scared about it. I used to have extreme death-anxiety when I was younger, but I managed to get over it, bow to fate and realise that it's normal to die and that nothing you do can stop you from crossing paths with death.

<h3>Why We Should Be Fearful?</h3>

The other side of me is terrified. The closest we can ever really get to immortality is being remembered after our deaths, and our legacy persists in people that we have inspired and met.

The daunting part is how we are just going to be forgotten. All your accomplishments, milestones and achievement will not mean anything to anyone when you no longer persist on the Earth.

You have never been alive for billions of years, but in the tiniest part of the lifespan of the universe you are born to have a slice of this cake which is life but when your time is done you turn back to your incessant sleep in oblivion.

My comments are of course made leaving out the fact that there may be a higher power that is watching over us and that this may not be the end of our existence.

As I've been making this post I've realised that it is funny to ask a question like this, since whether you're afraid or not it doesn't matter.

**Death is coming regardless of what you think.**

To me we are immortal electrical beings, and only our bodies are bound by time.

I do not worry about being remembered either.  My objective is to further liberty for everyone's good.

The more time I have, the further I advance liberty's cause.

What I try to do is make the best of every moment I can. Of course, there are times when I am terrified since there is so much I want to do and what if death takes me away before I could accomplish it all. But then I also think that if death does take me away, will it matter in the end? What is more important, to live life to the fullest or to do something that leaves a mark in this world for a long time to come?
I would also love to hear your views on 'life after death' and do you believe in it. I've met a few people who said they've had out of body experiences, visit astral planes and have met people from past lives! 
It's all very fascinating to hear but very difficult for me to belive unless I've personally experienced it.

Personally, I am not afraid of death, it is just a life cycle and when my time comes, it comes, as I see it, there is nothing to fear about it. What I am afraid of is society going bat shit crazy and not caring about each other, what you leave behind doesn't matter, what matters is how you live your life, you won't care when you'll die.
