The new technology is based on infrared rays. The future of Wi-Fi?

Having (or suffering) a slow wi-fi connection is a source of irritation for anyone who experiences it. The wireless devices in the household are consuming more and more data, and this we know, which is only in principle, because our technological needs are constantly growing. All this, is congesting more and more the wi-fi network. Fortunately, a team of researchers from the University of Technology in Eindhoven (The Netherlands) has found a surprising solution: a wireless network based on completely harmless infrared optical beams. Its capacity is not only amazing, more than 40Gbit / second per beam, but there is no need to share the connection as each device gets its own beam of light. 100 times faster than Wi-Fi and with a quick, simple and inexpensive setup.
How does it work?
The key lies in a few central 'light antennas' - which we could perfectly mount on the ceiling - that are the ones that direct the rays of light provided by optical fiber. Being a device without moving parts requires no maintenance and less energy: the antennas have a pair of grids that radiate rays of light at different wavelengths and different angles that do not affect the human eye. The system is harmless. So, the technology works in a very clear way: you go with your tablet by the house and while you move different antennas of light they give the relief to give you cover. The network tracks the location of each of the wireless devices and is assigned different wavelengths without sharing capacity or ability to interfere with the neighbor's wi-fi. Considering that the Wi-Fi we use today employs radio signals with a frequency of 2.5 or up to 5Ghz, the new system has frequencies that are thousands of times higher, about 200 terahertz.
When will it be ready?
Researchers estimate that in about 5 years this technology will be available in stores. ----------------
Reference: MuyInteresante

This is interesting and perhaps even necessary. I should point out that any form of radiation is potentially harmful and dangerous to humans when in high concentration like the infrared beams that are narrowly focused. However, this technology could prove useful to *mind transfer*. In fact, I just made a post about [mind transfer](https://steemit.com/life/@bba/eternal-life-vs-eternal-youth-if-you-have-to-choose-what-would-it-be). Perhaps you or the readers here might find it interesting as well.
