Como se ha mencionado anteriormente, el cáncer de pulmón puede afectar a cualquier persona, sin embargo existen ciertos factores que son predominantes y aumentan el riesgo de padecer ésta patología. 

>As mentioned above, lung cancer can affect anyone, however there are certain factors that are predominant and increase the risk of suffering from this pathology.

###### ¿Cuáles son estos factores de riesgo? / What are these risk factors?

Principalmente nos encontramos con la acción de fumar. Este es uno de los factores de riesgo más importantes para el cáncer de pulmón, ocurre debido a las sustancias tóxicas que poseen los cigarrillos las cuáles causan un daño grave a todo el sistema respiratorio pero afectando en mayor cantidad a los pulmones. Se dice que una persona que ha empezado a fumar de forma temprana en su vida aumenta de forma mayor el riesgo de padecer cáncer de pulmón.

>Mainly we find the action of smoking. This is one of the most important risk factors for lung cancer, it occurs due to the toxic substances that cigarettes have, which cause serious damage to the entire respiratory system but affecting the lungs to a greater extent. A person who started smoking early in her life is said to increase the risk of lung cancer.

El dejar de fumar puede disminuir este factor de riesgo, sin embargo aun así se tendría un riesgo mayor que aquellos que nunca han fumado en su vida. 

>Quitting smoking can reduce this risk factor, however, they would still have a greater risk than those who have never smoked in their lives.

<br>

La inhalación pasiva de humo de cigarrillo también puede favorecer el desarrollo de cáncer de pulmón, esto ocurre porque se está igual de expuesto a las toxinas del cigarrillo pero en menor cantidad.

>Passive inhalation of cigarette smoke can also promote the development of lung cancer, this occurs because you are equally exposed to cigarette toxins but in lesser quantity.

Otro factor de riesgo es el de tener antecedentes familiares con cáncer de pulmón, esto favorece el desarrollo del mismo. 

>Another risk factor is having a family history of lung cancer, this favors its development.

El estar expuesto a sustancias o componentes como el asbesto, cromo, hollín alquitrán, radiación o radioterapia en lugares de trabajo o lugares que se visiten con frecuencia.

>Being exposed to substances or components such as asbestos, chromium, soot, tar, radiation or radiotherapy in workplaces or places that are visited frequently.

###### ¿Se puede prevenir? / Can it be prevented?

<br>

De cierta forma podríamos disminuir esos factores de riesgo los cuales favorecen al cáncer de pulmón tal como dejar de fumar o el disminuir la exposición a sustancias peligrosas como las que se han mencionado anteriormente. 

>In a certain way, we could reduce those risk factors which favor lung cancer, such as quitting smoking or reducing exposure to dangerous substances such as those mentioned above.
