The Euclid-class **SCP-173** object is an anomalous concrete and steel statue with the ability to move and hostile behavior. Contained at Site 19 in a locked chamber, the statue moves at very high speed when not in direct line of sight, and if there are no insurmountable obstacles (such as locked walls and doors) the entity will go to the nearest person and will break the neck performing a twisting movement of the neck.

Contrary to what intuition would say from the above explanation, the blockage in the direct line of sight can even be caused by the person's eyelids. This means that if a person is in close proximity to **SCP-173** (to the point where they have to stare at it to survive) and blink, the statue could break their neck in an instant. For this reason, when manipulating the object **SCP-173**. it is recommended that you are accompanied, and that each individual announces the moment they need to blink, so that they never blink at the same time.

Concrete and/or metal scraping sounds are common in the vicinity of the statue's containment room and are considered normal, as they are sounds caused by the statue moving at high speeds as it crawls along the floor. Any variation in this behavior must be reported to the supervisor responsible for the object.

The room in which the statue is contained is continuously filled with a brown mass, composed of human blood and feces, with no anomalous features. Because of this, the room must be cleaned twice a week by no less than three disposable Class D employees with healthy eyes.

## About SCP-173's art

However, the photo originally used to illustrate **SCP-173**, known as Peanut, is an artwork named [Untitled 2004](http://izumikato.com/filter/sculpture/Untitled-2004) produced by a Japanese artist known as [Izumi Kato](http://izumikato.com/), which granted the community the right to use images and reproductions in a non-commercial way. No work may be marketed if it contains reproductions of Kato's original sculpture, subject to punishment for copyright infringement. The official website of the SCP Foundation also warns against trying to contact the artist to obtain a license to use the image for commercial purposes.

Due to these copyright issues, the original image has been removed from the site and a gallery has been created containing some new art proposals for **SCP-173**, while the one that will be definitively used is not chosen (and which it is believed will be kept attached to the SCP for historical purposes and to make new theories about the object). O objeto **SCP-173** de classe euclídeo é uma estátua de concreto e aço anômala, com capacidade de movimento e comportamento hostil. Ao contrário do que a intuição diria pela explicação acima, o bloqueio na linha de visão direta pode ser causado até mesmo pelas pálpebras da pessoa. Isso significa que se uma pessoa estiver próxima ao **SCP-173** (a ponto de precisar ficar encarando-a para sobreviver) e piscar, a estátua poderá quebrar-lhe o pescoço em um instante. Por esse motivo, ao manipular o objeto **SCP-173**. é recomendado que se esteja acompanhado, e que cada indivíduo anuncie o momento em que precisar piscar, para que nunca pisquem ao mesmo momento.

Sons de concreto e/ou metal raspando são comuns nas proximidades da sala de contenção da estátua e considerados normais, visto que se tratam de sons causados pela movimentação da estátua em alta velocidade ao se arrastar pelo chão. Qualquer variação nesse comportamento deve ser informada ao supervisor responsável pelo objeto.

A sala em que a estátua está contida é preenchida continuamente por uma massa marrom, composta de sangue e fezes humanas, sem características anômalas. Por conta disso, a  sala deve ser limpa duas vezes por semana por não menos que três funcionários descartáveis da classe D com olhos saudáveis.
