Rethinking my Idea of Buying a Chinese Smartphone

My Secondary Smartphone has been with me for like 5-6 years and even though it was a Flagship Killer Smartphone it has aged a lot and now hardly keeps up with Time. So I decided to look for a new Smartphone probably in the Below 30000 INR range and since most of the Smartphones in this Category are Chinese made things are not looking good for me.

Usually, I wouldn't be thinking so hard about whether a Smartphone is of Chinese origin or not but I just read something that has me reconsidering my options. It seems Germany is officially Banning OPPO and OnePlus Smartphones in their country and by the looks of it, a few more European Countries may follow suit. The apparent reason behind the Ban is being said to be some sort of dispute between Nokia and the other Smartphone companies but I feel like this might just be the start of a broad-scale Ban on Chinese-made Smartphones.

It seems Chinese Smartphone makers are having a rough time but it has come to notice that OnePlus is under talks with German officials so that they get to sell their Smartphones in Germany. So now I am wondering if I should buy a Chinese-made Smartphone and potentially risk getting the Smartphone banned in India at a later date which will mean in the future I might not get any future updates on my Smartphone. So yeah I am really wondering what I should do now.

Interesting! Even if the ban placed on some of these smartphone companies you mentioned are because of their link to China, I believe that Chinese manufacturers have managed to make a lot of these things affordable because of their mass production and the way they inject their product into various market.

If you see a product you like, there's no need to be worried if it's Chinese or not. As far as its fit for purpose and suits what you want, you can go for it.

Well I'm not one to be thinking too much about stuff like that 😂😂 but I think its really harsh of a country to out a ban on another country's smartphones. China made goods have a large impact around the world so I think that even if there would be a ban it'll be shortlived.

If I would plan to buy a smartphone nowadays, then I would avoid Chinese smartphones, like Oppo, and I would save more money to buy a quality smartphone from a well known company. For example from Samsung. Currently I have a Samsung Galaxy A12, and I am very satisfied with it.
