so basically, YT is trying to combine what Twitch and Patreon do for years... Doesn't sound like huge innovation, just poor copy paste. 

*Do you think this is going to work for YT and its partners?*

Personally, I prefer the DTube model...

Time will tell, but it might actually work if the payment system  is well enough integrated to YT.  I think sooner or later YT will move to some kind of digital token as well for the payment system.

And I really hope d.tube will make it. We really need a distributed competitor to YT.
