Windows 7 support is ending in January, time to checkout Linux Mint

And the timing couldn't be even more perfect.

Today [Linux Mint 19.3](https://linuxmint.com/download.php) was released - the perfect time to check whether your hardware works with it, and to see whether you like it or not :)

I love it, and I'm using Ubuntu on my Laptops for a long time, so this point is clear for me.

### Here's how to give it a try

* Download the ISO https://linuxmint.com/download.php
* Download Etecher (Win&Linux) https://www.balena.io/etcher/
* Flash the ISO to an USB
* Boot the USB

It worked great with my aged hardware, all I have to do now is to buy a nice and fresh Samsung SSD, and I'm set for years to come... I hope :)

Yeah, I have used Windows 10 since the tech insider for a while now. I have enjoyed it a lot. I tried out linux recently to see if it was worth migrating to. I was unfortunately dissappointed that I had to learn console commands to get basic networking functionality from most distros.

Not yet. I tried Ubuntu and Manjaro. I liked Manjaro, but still had to use the console to get networking right. I guess I just need to learn more to really make the most of linux. I'll also give a go to Mint.
