'only one (soteriology) is that of Christ as written in the gospels'

That's little more precise but I'm sure you know that we have texts, parts and sometimes only a description of maybe 50 early Christian gospels. So when you say that what you believe about salvation is 'written in the gospels' that's very unclear for me. Pls give me some description of this soteriology and show me the textual basis for this description. That way I will know what you referring to.

You say that 'religion IS immutable for its own definition'.

But I'm asking: can we trust this definition? I think the only way to check it out it is to look at the details of the theory of salvation you believe in according to your sources, and then work with more sources to check out if there was (or wasn't) a different theory before or after.

P. S. Your article about technology looks very promising for me, for sure I will read it and comment tomorrow.

Dear @assayer.. I would reply by re-quoting John 14:6. As per the meaning of gospels I refer to the canonical ones, we could use the king's james bible so we make happy our protestant friends too. However the theory of salvation is the one of us saved by grace. Being myself a catholic, you can check the doctrine of faith on this and you will have the reply ;-) It's about the sacrifice of Christ when crucified, and the freedom coming from it.
As per the immutability: If you call yourself a devote of a religion, then you follow that religion. This doesn't mean we blindly follow something without questioning, it just means that - without renouncing to your criticism - there's a moment in which faith comes into the game. At the same time, there's room for change in every religion, as long a the principles are maintained as the backbone of it. Let me go back to your analogy with the blockchain... suppose that bitcoin's blockchain can be modified...would it be worth it and would the bitcoin have the value that it has nowadays? You see, that's my point.

You may compare John's Jesus and his self-centered message with Mark's Jesus and his humility (including the baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins, Mk 1, 4-9). Baptism event was heavily edited from gospel to gospel, and with John's gospel, it disappears.

There is a lot of research into glorification of the famous persons, religious and political leaders especially. John compared to the Synoptics seems to be the case here.

Even Christian writers since II century wrote gospel's "harmonies" (see. Diatessaron). They knew of different ideas, especially in the gospels Christology.

I'm well aware that "there's a moment in which faith comes into the game" and traces of the historical development doesn't matter anymore. That's the exact reason I see blockchain as a revolution for theology. Because it will make these traces very durable and hard to forget.

Theology will need to find another way.
