Cuba e' un'isola.
I cittadini cubani vivono su un isola, circondata dal mare ma del mare sanno poco o nulla.
Quasi nessuno sa nuotare anche se vedo dei corsi nella piscina all'aperto della scuola dello sport vicino a casa.
Anche per quanto riguarda il mangiare pesce la situazione e' alquanto variegata.
Amano molto los camarones anche se non tutti possono accedervi per questioni economiche, spessissimo quando sono andato in un paladar con una fanciulla il gamberetto era quasi un obbligo per lei, fosse anche solo come cocktail.
Non tutti amano l'aragosta, forse perche' non l'hanno mai assaggiata oppure col costo di una si acquistano libbre di carne de puerco.
Abbastanza popolare el pescado del rio, costa meno, francamente la tilapia fritta con un po' di lime la mangio volentieri.

La querelle nasce col polpo.
“Que asko”.
Questa e' l'affermazione tipica della cubana quando le proponi di mangiare il polpo, ovviamente dopo aver fatto il diavolo a 4 per riuscire a trovarlo.
Poi lo assaggiano e gradiscono nella maggior parte dei casi ma farglielo provare é una battaglia degna di re Leonida ed i suoi 300 guerrieri.
Ovviamente se lo trovi al ristorante devi spiegare bene, al cocinero non alla cameriera, che lo vuoi il piu' semplice possibile; solo olio,sale e limone....se esistesse, il prezzemolo.
Come sempre hanno la tendenza a rovinare il cibo con salse improbabili, cumino e cose simili mentre il polpo va mangiato piu'
naturale possibile.

Perche' vi ho tirato il pippone sul polpo?
Per una voglia.
Vi confesso che una delle attrici che mi fa piu' sangue, da sempre, e' Luisa Ranieri, credo incarni la classica bellezza mediterranea.
Per questa ragione caso piu' unico che raro, guardo la finction della domenica sera Lolita Lobosco dove lei fa la parte di un vice questore di polizia a Bari.
Vi confesso che guardo quella finction anche perche' mi manca terribilmente il sud Italia.
Ci ho fatto tante stagioni nei villaggi turistici, se le metto tutte insieme sono parecchi anni della mia vita vissuti nel meridione 
italiano.
In una puntata la Ranieri era con un collega vicino ad un 
chioschetto a riva mare, al porto di Bari, il collega disquisiva sul fatto che il panino col polpo deve essere il piu' semplice possibile, senza salse e niente altro.
Mi ha fatto venire una voglia pazzesca di panino col polpo, che non ho mai mangiato in vita mia, pur avendo nel 2002 lavorato come Capo Villaggio per 4 mesi in villaggio ad Ugento, provincia di Lecce.

Credo che la cosa sia fattibile anche a Torino ma...e' come bere rhum lontano da Cuba, non e' la stessa cosa.
In palestra mi dicono che c'è anche una versione partenopea di quel panino, ma con l'aggiunta di burrata e friarielli. 
Quindi vedendo quella scena, al di la della voglia che prima o poi mi togliero', mi sono ricordato delle battaglie combattute a Cuba per fare assaggiare alla fanciulla di turno il polpo, una delle cibarie che adoro di piu'.

SANDWICH WITH OCTOPUS
Cuba is an island.
Cuban citizens live on an island, surrounded by the sea but know little or nothing about the sea.
Hardly anyone knows how to swim even though I see courses in the outdoor swimming pool of the sports school near my house.
Even with regard to eating fish, the situation is quite varied.
They love los camarones even if not everyone can access them for economic reasons, very often when I went to a paladar with a girl the shrimp was almost an obligation for her, even if only as a cocktail.
Not everyone loves lobster, perhaps because they have never tasted it or for the cost of one you buy pounds of carne de puerco.
Quite popular el pescado del rio, it costs less, frankly I eat fried tilapia with a little lime.

The dispute was born with the octopus.
“Que asko”.
This is the typical statement of the Cuban when she proposes to eat the octopus, obviously after having done the devil to be able to find it.
Then they taste it and like it in most cases but letting them try it is a battle worthy of King Leonidas and his 300 warriors.
Obviously if you find it at the restaurant you have to explain well, to the cocinero not to the waitress, that you want it as simple as possible; only oil, salt and lemon .... if it existed, parsley.
As always they have the tendency to spoil the food with improbable sauces, cumin and similar things while the octopus should be eaten more
natural as possible.

This is a blog, when I'm not in Cuba and I can't tell you stories every day, I tell stories, little things, sensations I come across.
Why did I piss you on the octopus?
For a craving.
I confess that one of the actresses who has always made me bloodiest is Luisa Ranieri, I believe she embodies the classic Mediterranean beauty.
For this reason, a more unique than rare case, I watch the Sunday evening fiction Lolita Lobosco where she plays the part of a police deputy commissioner in Bari.
I confess that I watch that fiction also because I miss southern Italy terribly.
I've spent many seasons in tourist villages, if I put them all together it's several years of my life lived in the south
Italian.
In one episode Ranieri was with a colleague close to a
kiosk on the seashore, in the port of Bari, the colleague quibbled on the fact that the octopus sandwich should be as simple as possible, without sauces and nothing else.
It made me crave an octopus sandwich, which I have never eaten in my life, despite having worked in 2002 as Village Head for 4 months in a village in Ugento, in the province of Lecce.

I think this is also feasible in Turin but... it's like drinking rum far from Cuba, it's not the same thing.
At the gym they tell me that there is also a Neapolitan version of that sandwich, but with the addition of burrata and broccoli.
So seeing that scene, beyond the desire that sooner or later I'll get rid of it, I remembered the battles fought in Cuba to let the girl on duty taste the octopus, one of the foods I adore the most.
