Greetings to all, I hope you are well. In these times of upheaval, going back to natural is always a good idea. That is why today I would like to tell you about my encounter with a super food, little known in some places, and underestimated in others. It is the tree of **Moringa Oleifera**. It is native to India, and therefore widely used in Ayurvedic medicine to cure, prevent or mitigate many diseases.

In my case, I began to consume it for nutritional reasons, it is impressive the amount of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and oligoelements that it possesses.

From the Moringa tree you can take advantage of everything, roots, flowers, leaves and seeds. Until now I have consumed the leaves and the seeds, in fact these last ones I am commercializing them together with an aunt of the province that has the tree in her house and the pods containing the seeds fell dry and practically were lost. At the beginning of the pandemic, talking to her, we were encouraged to market them, and of course, in my case, to consume them, so that we could have ownership when talking about the benefits and goodness attributed to them.

Por eso hoy quisiera hablarles de mi encuentro con un súper alimento, poco conocido en algunas partes, y sub-estimado en otras. Se trata del árbol de **Moringa Oleifera**. Es originario de la India, y por lo tanto muy usado en la medicina ayurvédica para curar, prevenir o mitigar muchas enfermedades.

> En mi caso, comencé a consumirla por razones nutricionales, es impresionante la cantidad de vitaminas, minerales, aminoácidos y oligoelementos que posee.

> Del árbol de Moringa se puede aprovechar todo, raíces, flores, hojas y semillas. Hasta ahora he consumido las hojas y las semillas, de hecho estas últimas las estoy comercializando junto con una tía de la provincia que tiene el árbol en su casa y las vainas contentivas de las semillas caían secas y prácticamente se perdían. A inicios de la pandemia, conversando con ella, nos animamos a comercializarlas, y por supuesto, en mi caso, a consumirlas, para así tener propiedad al hablar de los beneficios y bondades que se le atribuyen.

The moringa tree is fast growing, it grows between 10 and 13 meters high, it is very resistant, it grows in any type of environment, preferably tropical. The pods with seeds sprout quickly, or at least so does the tree in my aunt's house. Unfortunately I don't have any photos, only of the seeds that they helped her collect to help her market them here where I live.

Las vainas con semillas brotan rápido, o por lo menos así lo hace el árbol que está en la casa de mi tía. Lamentablemente no tengo fotos, solo de las semillas que le ayudaron a recolectar para ayudarla a comercializarlas acá donde yo resido.

One of the things that seemed pertinent to me because of the health situation we are going through, is that the moringa seed has been studied in order to check its effectiveness in respiratory and antimicrobial processes.

Debe tenerse en cuenta que en muchas regiones rurales de los países subdesarrollados, debido al alto costo del cloro y otros desinfectantes, no se les practica ningún tratamiento a las aguas, lo que genera enfermedades provocadas por los microorganismos contaminantes.

In infusions and raw seed.

As I was explained, since I have not been able to travel to experience the process, the pod or drumstick of the moringa when it matures, it becomes dry and fibrous, and that is the ideal moment to scrape later the seeds that will be destined to the sowing or to the consumption.

The seed comes covered with a brown shell, easily detachable by pressing a little or nailing the nail, then comes a whitish ball of medium hardness (if you press with your fingers is crushed) that is consumed. It can be eaten in salads or stir-fried with other nuts, in my case I do it as if it were a capsule, I take two, I press them with my fingers and take them with water in the morning.

Según me explicaron, ya que no he podido viajar para vivenciar el proceso, la vaina o baqueta de la moringa cuando madura, se vuelve seca y fibrosa, y ese es el momento ideal para raspar luego las semillas que serán destinadas a la siembra o al consumo.

> La semilla viene recubierta de una cascara marrón, fácilmente desprendible presionando un poco o clavando la uña, entonces sale una pelotita blanquecina de mediana dureza (si se presiona con los dedos se aplasta) que es la que se consume. La pueden consumir en ensaladas o salteadas junto a otros frutos secos, en mi caso lo hago como si fuera una cápsula, tomo dos, las presiono con los dedos y las tomo con agua en las mañanas.

I also eventually consume the moringa leaf, in tea. It also has many properties, especially I was struck by the high amount of vitamins A, C, calcium and iron among others. In my case, which I am in the process of adapting to vegetarianism, moringa was a great discovery, because it also has many proteins and essential amino acids.
> También consumo eventualmente la hoja de moringa, en te. También tiene muchas propiedades, sobre todo me llamó la atención la alta cantidad de vitaminas A, C, calcio y hierro entre otros. En mi caso, que estoy en el proceso de adaptación al vegetarianismo, fue un gran descubrimiento la moringa, porque aparte tiene muchas proteínas y aminoacidos esenciales.

We are going to prepare it like any other infusion, we put water to the fire, what boils, we put a teaspoon of the leaves and cover for a few minutes. The taste is regular hahaha neither bad nor good. I prefer the jamaica or the coffee 😂 but it is passable. It can be improved with leaves of stevia that would be incorporated next to the leaves of moringa, also with honey, or with any other silver that they like.

> El te lo vamos a preparar como cualquier otra infusión, ponemos agua al fuego, el lo que hierva, echamos una cucharadita de las hojas y tapamos por unos minutos. El sabor es regular jajaja ni malo ni bueno. Prefiero la jamaica o el café 😂 pero es pasable. Se puede mejorar con hojitas de stevia que se incorporarían junto a las hojas de moringa, también con miel, o con cualquier otra plata que les guste.

I tell you about the changes experienced in a tangible way since I am consuming the moringa, most often the seeds:

#

- Greater vitality and energy during the day.
- My nails have hardened, they used to break easily.
- My hair loss has been controlled.
- I've taken off without looking for it, a few pounds. (I was looking for copper and found gold 😄)
- I haven't had a cold or anything like it these months.
- I just had to have a blood test for work reasons and I, who always had to supplement with iron or vitamin B because my hemoglobin tended to be very low, got 14, a record for me. This year I have not taken any vitamin supplement, I have only improved my diet, and I have consumed moringa and garlic by the dozens... but that is another post 😊

So I encourage you not to underestimate this super food that nature gives us and that can do a lot of good to our health and wellbeing in general.

> Les comento los cambios experimentados de forma tangible desde que estoy consumiendo la moringa, más frecuentemente las semillas:

> - Mayor vitalidad y energía durante el día.
> - Mis uñas se han endurecido, antes se quebraban fácilmente.
> - Se me controló la caída del cabello.
> - Me he quitado sin buscarlo, unas cuantas libras. (Buscaba cobre y encontré oro 😄)
> - No he tenido resfrío ni nada que se le parezca estos meses.
> - Recién debí hacerme una analítica sanguínea por motivos laborales y yo, que siempre me tenía que suplementar con hierro o vitamina B porque la hemoglobina me tendía a salir muy baja, me ha salido en 14, un récord para mi. Este año no he tomado ningún suplemento vitamínico, solo he mejorado la alimentación, y consumido moringa y ajo por montones... pero ese es otro post 😊

> Así que los animo a no subestimar este súper alimento que nos regala la naturaleza y que mucho bien le puede hacer a nuestra salud y bienestar en general.</div>
