Is it possible to transfer HP?

<p>i would like to be able to send Hive Power (HP) to another Hive account holder. Can this be done?</p>
<p>i seem to recall in the past that an option on Blocktrades was to buy HIVE or HP, which leads me to think it may be possible.</p>
<p>If so, how?</p>

Is it possible to transfer HP?

<p>I haven't yet found a way to transfer HP directly to someone. But if you want to give someone HP rather than HIVE, there are a couple of possibilities I can think of.</p>
<p>One is the buy HP through Blocktrades and put their username in instead of yours, which will generate a payment address that means the HP you buy goes to them.</p>
<p>The other is that if you have some liquid HIVE, you can power it up to them. In Ecency wallet (the front end I usually use), the power-up dialogue box is pre-populated with your user name in the "from" and "to" boxes, so all yo udo is change the "to" username to the other person's.</p>

I think you can delegate hive power but only send liquid hive to others. even though you can power up others from your liquid hive. transferring hp is not possible not right now (as per my knowledge ).

You can delegate the Hive Power (HP) to anyone from within the wallet. Go to hive wallet and click delegate.

Not possible, that be a good idea if there were some sort of escrow system in place. I wouldn't send hive or hive power(if possible) to another user expecting them to buy it from me because I'd be scared they would take the hp and ghost or something. Alternatively, I would not send them hive first expecting them to send the hp after, not even if I trusted the person, Has to be some kind of smart contract intermediary in place that we all can trust first, and this just isn't the case yet.

I am not an expert, but I guess that the slow power down purpose is exactly to make it so people can't move all their hive at once, and sell it (and dump the price). So I think you may have to wait unfortunately.

Yeah it's possible. I'm sure you know about delegating HP to another account but I'm guessing your question is sending HP directly.

You can do that though the PeakD wallet. 

You will need liquid Hive to send.

From the drop down menu select "Power Up".

Then in the "To:" field put in the account you would like to send HP to.

You can do basically the same in Keychain. Just change the account name from your own to the account you would like to send HP to.
