When it comes to respect and attention, these are the things we seek more from people from our personal or private lives, to social media and down to our jobs because we feel that defines us and our self-worth. So we would do anything to get it, especially when it comes to attention. People seek attention more than respect because they feel that will make them more noticeable and popular in the community or world as a whole.
Sometimes we work our ass off just to prove ourselves to either people in our lives or our bosses, so that we can be appreciated and noticed but is it supposed to be so? You see people do stuffs just to get attention of people, things that are not in accord of what they are, living fake lives, all in the name of fame and attention and they will do anything or hurt anyone for it. An example of this is the current social media lifestyle we see every day.
Sometimes we seek attention unconsciously and sometimes consciously, and attentions are seek in different ways, either we want to feel noticed by our loved ones or we want it to feel important in the community and depending on how we seek it, it can either be good or bad. But at the end we are all desperate for it and we will do anything to get it for ourselves and that’s why today on social media before do a lot of things and go extra mile just for the likes, views and comments.
Now let’s talk little bit about respect too, respect is what we should be seeking for more than attention, attention isn’t bad but what matters is how you seek it. When you end to do awful things in search for attention, what you fail to understand is that you lose respect from either loved ones or community and because of the way the world is today we rather choose the attention to respect and that’s you see a lot of people lacking respect because they feel they are popular on one platform or the other they get the attention they want online, so they feel respect isn’t needed.

What people fail to understand is having people respect you, it means that they already trust you; they value you and see you as a good person too. So that’s why they can depend on you. At the end of the day once you are respected, nothing else matters be it where you are from or your beliefs because they people you have decided to give you or show you their respects have accepted that you are a good person beautiful inside and out and in your ways. And it’s also important to reciprocate it too when our showed.
Also for attention there are good parts to it, like when you invent something and want it to go viral or people to know about it, and sometimes when you good in something or the best, it tends to just find its way to you from people you don’t even know and that is when your good deeds speak for you, through that you can earn respects. From there onwards, your reputation tends to increase and you become known in the society or world. Because at the end of the day, what really matters is how you live your life and when you gone that’s the way people will see you or talk about you.
But when we let the respect we have get into our heads by seeking more attention, it can kill our reputation, respect is earn and given, you can’t force someone to respect you, and when you start letting respect you have get over you, feeling proud of what you have achieved, trust me your reputation will start depreciating and you will lose it.
So at the end of the day we should decide what we want and how we want to live our lives.
