Saludos para todos los que hacen vida en esta comunidad tan creativa y talentosa, en la que las labores manuales son unas verdaderas obras de arte. Mi admiración y respeto para todos.

Esta es mi primera publicación en la comunidad, admito que desde hace un tiempo había querido hacer algo bonito para compartir por aquí con ustedes, pero no había conseguido el tiempo. Fue  hasta ahora que pude dedicar un tiempito para hacer esto que me encanta y que disfruto plenamente porque es una actividad que me relaja y me da paz.

This is my first publication in the community, I admit that for some time I had wanted to do something nice to share here with you, but I had not found the time. It was until now that I could dedicate a little time to do this that I love and that I fully enjoy because it is an activity that relaxes me and gives me peace.

En mi búsqueda de materiales para tener en casa y hacer las manualidades que tanto me gustan, encontré este kit de bordado para principiantes que me llamó la atención y me hizo recordar una buena época en la que bordaba mucho. 

Mi mamá me enseñó a bordar siendo una niña, amaba dar las puntadas e ir viendo cómo aparecía ante mis ojos una hermosa flor, un lindo paisaje o una coqueta muñeca con sombrero. Estas fueron las primeras cosas que recuerdo haber bordado. Por ejemplo, la muñeca la bordé cuando hice mi retiro espiritual antes de tomar la primera comunión. Ese bordado se convirtió en mi cojín preferido por muchos años.

Con el tiempo, dejé de bordar con frecuencia por los estudios y otras ocupaciones, pero retomé este placer cuando salí embarazada y le bordé cualquier cantidad de cositas a mi hija: baberos, mantas, guardacamisas, pañales, entre otros.

Luego, volví a dejar de lado esta actividad porque, entre el trabajo y la maternidad, no tenía mucho tiempo libre para dedicarle.

In my search for materials to have at home and make the crafts I love so much, I found this embroidery kit for beginners that caught my attention and made me remember a good time when I embroidered a lot.

My mom taught me to embroider when I was a little girl, I loved to stitch and see how a beautiful flower, a nice landscape or a cute doll with a hat appeared before my eyes. These were the first things I remember embroidering. For example, I embroidered the doll when I made my spiritual retreat before taking my first communion. That embroidery became my favorite cushion for many years.



Over time, I stopped embroidering frequently because of my studies and other occupations, but I resumed this pleasure when I became pregnant and embroidered any number of little things for my daughter: bibs, blankets, shirt covers, diapers, among others.

Then, I put this activity aside again because, between work and motherhood, I didn't have much free time to dedicate to it.

Cuando encontré este kit aquí en Bogotá fue amor a primera vista. Lo compré y le compré a mi mamá también cuando le envié una caja con muchas madejas, telas para bordar y otros detalles que a ella le encantaron. 

El kit contiene un aro de 20cmsx20cms, un pedazo de tela con el diseño impreso, madejas de los colores necesarios para bordar el diseño, agujas y una hoja con las instrucciones y puntos a bordar.

Después que llegó la cajita, comenzamos a bordar las dos juntas. Ella, en Venezuela, con lo que le mandé y yo este kit  aquí en Bogotá. Estábamos muy entusiasmadas, yo  feliz porque había encontrado el tiempo para hacerlo sin presiones, disfrutándolo al máximo.

When I found this kit here in Bogota it was love at first sight. I bought it and I bought my mom too when I sent her a box with many skeins, embroidery fabrics and other details that she loved. 

The kit contains a 20cmsx20cms hoop, a piece of fabric with the design printed on it, skeins of the colors needed to embroider the design, needles and a sheet with the instructions and stitches to embroider.

After the box arrived, we started embroidering together. She, in Venezuela, with what I sent her and I with this kit here in Bogota. We were very excited, I was happy because I had found the time to do it without pressure, enjoying it to the fullest.

Amo bordar y en este ejercicio encontré el momento de paz que tanto  necesitaba para calmar mi mente en los días de mayor angustia por la enfermedad de mi mamá. Ella no pudo bordar más. Yo bordaba por horas, dejé de lado las instrucciones con los colores que exigía el diseño y lo fui bordando, según lo que me daba mi creatividad. Cambiaba los hilos para bordar hojas por un rato, luego cambiaba para las flores otro rato, así fui descubriendo el diseño floral de mi kit.

Quería terminar el bordado antes de que mi mamá se fuera de este mundo, pero no pude, lo abandoné un rato hasta que lo retomé y lo terminé un mes después de su partida.

I love embroidering and in this exercise I found the moment of peace that I needed so much to calm my mind in the days of greatest anguish due to my mother's illness. She could not embroider anymore. I embroidered for hours, I left aside the instructions with the colors required by the design and I embroidered according to what my creativity gave me. I would change the threads to embroider leaves for a while, then I would change them for the flowers for another while, so I was discovering the floral design of my kit.

I wanted to finish the embroidery before my mom left this world, but I couldn't, I abandoned it for a while until I took it up again and finished it a month after her departure.

Bordé el diseño de flores con los puntos básicos: puntadas largas y cortas, puntadas satén o de relleno, en algunas flores hice el nudo francés y las puntadas de hojas. Así, fue apareciendo este ramillete de peonías que me gustó mucho y que quiero convertir en una pieza decorativa que puede ser un cojín o un cuadro con el aro o tambor como marco, o puedo mandarlo a enmarcar para dejarlo como un recuerdo de este momento de mi vida.

I embroidered the flower design with the basic stitches: long and short stitches, satin or filling stitches, in some flowers I did the French knot and leaf stitches. Thus, this bouquet of peonies appeared that I really liked and that I want to turn into a decorative piece that can be a cushion or a picture with the hoop or drum as a frame, or I can have it framed to leave it as a souvenir of this moment of my life.

Así quedó terminado mi proyecto. Me gustó mucho el resultado final y con mucho cariño se los dejo por aquí. 

¡No he parado de bordar! Estoy terminando  una funda para mi celular con flores bordadas que pronto les compartiré.
