Greetings, my dear craftsmen and craftswomen of this creative community.

I have continued embroidering with a lot of discipline and love. So, for today, needlework Monday, I'm going to share a project that came from the one I made for my daughter. After finishing the initial letter of my daughter's name, I was very excited and wanted to continue embroidering. Then, I remembered that I wanted to make a little gift for a very special person, a friend I made here in Bogota and who is a wonderful human being.

I decided to embroider the letter of her name but with a different style than the previous letter I had embroidered. I wanted to make it simpler, with soft lines and shades of pink and purple.

I believe that the gifts that are most appreciated are those that are made with our hands. At least for me, I value them very much and I keep them to preserve them for a lifetime.

After a few days of embroidering, today I finished it and I couldn't wait to mount it on a picture frame or any other surface to show it to you.

Maybe you can give me some ideas to mount this letter and give it to my friend, not as a decorative picture, but as another element that she can use.

Después de terminar la letra inicial del nombre de mi hija, quedé muy entusiasmada y con ganas de seguir bordando. Entonces, recordé que quería hacerle un regalito a una persona muy especial, a una amiga que hice aquí en Bogotá y que es un ser humano maravilloso. 

Decidí bordar la letra de su nombre pero con un estilo diferente a la letra anterior que había bordado. Quise hacerlo más simple, de líneas suaves y con tonos de la gama de los rosados y morados.

Considero que los regalos que más se aprecian son los que se hacen con nuestras manos. Al menos yo, los valoro mucho y los guardo para conservarlos toda la vida.

Luego de algunos días bordando, hoy lo terminé y no pude esperar a montarlo en un portarretrato o en cualquier otra superficie para venir a mostrárselo a ustedes.

Tal vez me puedan dar ideas para montar esta letra y entregársela a mi amiga, ya no como un cuadro decorativo, sino como otro elemento que ella pueda usar.

- Skeins of colors: purple, magenta, pink, yellow and green.
- Needles
- Scissors

The first step was to mark the lettering on the piece of fabric that I already had tightly pressed on the drum. I didn't follow any specific pattern. I just shaped it with my own style of lettering.<br>
Then, I started embroidering the letter with the back stitch, using purple skein all around the edge. Then, with magenta skein and on top of that, I used the pink thread, embroidering with overlock stitch to give a tricolor effect on the edge of the letter.

El primer paso fue marcar la letra en el pedazo de tela que ya tenía bien prensada en el tambor. No seguí ningún patrón específico. Solo le fui dando forma con mi propio estilo de letra.

Luego, comencé  bordando la letra con el punto atrás, usando madeja morada por todo la orilla. Luego, con madeja de color magenta y sobre ese, use el  hilo rosado, bordando  con pespunte sobrehilado para dar un efecto tricolor en el borde de la letra.

After I embroidered all the lettering and it was well defined. I embroidered little flowers on the lap that adorns the upper part and on the lap that adorns the lower part. 

In both parts I embroidered the flowers with daisy stitch. Some of them were purple, which I filled in the center with pink skein, and others were purple, which I filled in the center with yellow thread. To finish these bouquets, I embroidered them with bright green leaves that made them stand out.

Después que bordé toda la letra y quedó bien definida. Me dediqué a bordar florecitas en la vuelta que adorna la parte superior y en la vuelta que adorna la inferior. 

En ambas partes bordé las flores con punto margarita. Unas moradas, a las que le hice en el centro relleno con madeja rosada, y otras moradas, a las que el centro se lo hice con el hilo amarillo. Para terminar estos ramilletes, les bordé hojitas de un verde vivo y brillante que los hizo resaltar.

I really liked the result. The colors that I combined seem to harmonize with each other and give a special touch to this embroidery. 

I was very pleased, now I am going to think about the final gift for my friend, because this is the most valuable part, of course, but I want her to keep it in a place that she also likes.

 Me gustó mucho el resultado. Los colores que combiné me parecen que armonizan entre sí y le dan un toque especial a este bordado. 

Quedé muy complacida, ahora voy a pensar en el regalo definitivo para mi amiga, pues esta es la parte más valiosa, por supuesto, pero quiero que lo conserve en un lugar que también le guste.
