Greetings, dear friends of #creativecuisine. This is my first post in the community and I am pleased to do it to attend the invitation to participate in the contest [Present your kitchen](https://peakd.com/hive-173296/@creativecuisine/presenting-your-cooking-contest-by-creative-cuisine-the-imagination-channel).

I consider the kitchen to be one of the most important places in a house. In my family, it has always been the center of my home. I have had the joy and blessing of receiving my loved ones and friends in the warmth of large or small kitchens, but always with a willingness to share and serve with all my affection.

From the kitchen of my home in Venezuela, I keep the most beautiful memories of my life. In it, I cooked for my family, I made the arepitas that everyone loved, I ventured to make desserts, just to please my loves. Thank God, I didn't mess up the things I invented and, besides, they were very tasty.

I like to cook. I learned young, my grandmother taught me to make many recipes, among them, hallacas and quesillo. My mother taught me others that I have shared here. I have always liked it, but it pleases me even more to see the satisfied faces of the people who eat my food, who enjoy the flavors and want to repeat. <br>
I do it with so much love!

However, at home, the one who does most of the cooking is my husband. He doesn't let me do it because I happen to be like a magnet for fire and I always get burned. There hasn't been a single time in my life, inside the kitchen that I haven't said: Ouch, I burned myself! That's why it's a big event when I cook, first because it's eventual and second because I take great care in preparing delicacies for my loves and they love it.

Considero que la cocina es uno de los lugares más importantes de una casa. En mi familia, ha sido, siempre, el centro de mi hogar. He tenido la dicha y la bendición de recibir a mis seres queridos y a mis amigos, en el calor de cocinas grandes o pequeñas, pero siempre con  disposición a compartir y  a servir con todo mi cariño.

De la cocina de mi casa en Venezuela, guardo los recuerdos más hermosos de mi vida. En ella, cociné para mi familia, hice las arepitas que les encantaba a todos, me aventuré a hacer postres, tan solo para complacer a mis amores. Gracias a Dios, no metía la pata en las cosas que inventaba y, además,  me quedaban muy sabrosas.

A mí me gusta cocinar. Aprendí joven, mi abuela me enseñó a hacer muchas recetas, entre ellas, las hallacas y el quesillo. Mi mamá me enseñó otras que he compartido por aquí. Siempre me ha gustado, pero más me complace ver la cara de satisfacción de la gente que come mi comida, que se disfruta  los sabores y que quiere repetir. 

¡Lo hago con tanto amor!

Sin embargo, en casa, quien más cocina es mi esposo. No me deja hacerlo porque resulta que yo soy como un imán para el fuego y siempre me quemo. No ha habido una sola vez en mi vida, dentro de la cocina que no haya dicho: ¡Ayyy, me quemé! Por eso, es todo un acontecimiento cuando cocino, primero porque es eventual y segundo porque me esmero en prepararles exquisiteces a mis amores y les encanta.

When I emigrated, the first time I saw the place where I was going to live, I paid attention to the kitchen space. I wanted everything to be different from my kitchen in Cumana, but I was very clear that what I most wanted and want is for it to always be a place of encounters. So, it has been during all this year, living here: a place of love, of conversations, of sharing, of laughter and tears that are also part of our life? 


Little by little, I have opened it to the good friends I have made here and today I want to introduce them to you, my #Hive family.

Quise que todo fuera diferente a mi cocina cumanesa, pero, tenía muy claro que lo que más quería y quiero es  que  sea siempre un  lugar de encuentros. Así, ha sido durante todo este año, viviendo aquí: un lugar de amor, de conversaciones, de compartir,  de risas y de lágrimas que también son parte de nuestra vida... 


Poco a poco, la he abierto a los buenos amigos que he hecho aquí y hoy se las quiero presentar a ustedes, mi familia de #Hive.

This, my Bogota kitchen, is small, but full of light. It has a large window that I love because during sunny days, the sun floods it with light and reminds me of my big house in Cumaná.

At 51 years old, I had to start over in this country. My husband and I, full of illusions, just like when we got married at 21, began to put love into our new home.

We started to buy the things we needed to settle in: bed, stove, blender, the first utensils. My daughter and her husband gave us the refrigerator. Thus, we were filling our little love nest, and the kitchen took all the limelight because it is and will always be the living soul of my home in Venezuela, here in Bogota and wherever I go. 

Precisely, in the book I am reading, I have underlined a comparison that I liked very much and I want to share with you:

"... every house is a country in which the kitchen is the capital and the dining room the center of debate..."

Esta, mi cocina bogotana, es pequeña, pero llena de luz. Tiene un ventanal que amo porque durante los días soleados, el sol la inunda con su luz y me recuerda mi casa grande en Cumaná.

A mis 51 años, me tocó volver a empezar en este país. Mi esposo y yo, plenos de ilusiones, al igual que cuando nos casamos  a los 21, empezamos a ponerle cariño a nuestro nuevo hogar.

Comenzamos a comprar las cosas que necesitábamos para instalarnos: cama, cocina, licuadora, los primeros utensilios. La nevera nos la regalaron mi hija y su esposo. Así, fuimos llenando nuestro nidito de amor, y la cocina se llevaba todo el protagonismo porque es y será siempre el alma viva de mi hogar en Venezuela, aquí en Bogotá y donde quiera que vaya. 

Justamente, en el libro que estoy leyendo, tengo subrayada una comparación que quiero compartir con ustedes:

Later, we bought the chairs for the counter that serves as our dining room. I have purchased things for my kitchen, according to what I need. I am buying what I need so as not to fill myself with so many appliances and utensils that are often unnecessary, I realized this when I did some cleaning to leave my house organized, so many things, God! Although, I confess, that the days I cook here, I miss what I had in Cumaná that facilitated my culinary work.

When I realized that I needed a side table or something like that, I bought the greengrocer. There, I have my coffee station with the little cups, I also keep the eggs, some vegetables and fruits.


For the first few months, I kept the spices in the greengrocer until I designed a space on the counter with all the spices that I have now. This is to have them more at hand when it's time to cook.

Más adelante, compramos las sillas para el mesón que funciona como nuestro comedor. He adquirido las cosas para mi cocina, según lo que me va haciendo falta. Estoy comprando lo necesario para no llenarme de tantas aparatos y utensilios que muchas veces son innecesarios, me di cuenta de esto cuando, hice limpieza para dejar mi casa organizada, ¡cuántas cosas, Dios! Aunque, les confieso, que  los días que cocino aquí, extraño lo que tenía en Cumaná que me facilitaba mi quehacer culinario.

Cuando me di cuenta de que necesitaba una mesa auxiliar o algo parecido, compré el verdulero. Ahí, tengo mi estación de café con las tacitas, también guardo los huevos, algunas verduras y frutas.


Los primeros meses, guardaba las especias en el verdulero hasta que diseñé un espacio en el mesón con todas las especias que tengo ahora. Esto para tenerlas más a mano a la hora de cocinar.

I love my kitchen today, with its style of mostly light colors, fresh and illuminated. I have lived many things, in just one year, in that small space that is filled with love every day. There, I shared virtual coffees with my mom, that's why she has her little corner, always by my side. 

I have been inspired to cook delicious food for my family. I prepared hallacas and punches last December to bring our Venezuelan flavor, with pride, to Colombians, and to activate the taste memory of my Venezuelan brothers. The faces of happiness and even tears of nostalgia were my greatest satisfaction. 

In my kitchen, I have few utensils, the necessary ones to share love, even if it is in batches because I only have a set of four plates and a set of cutlery for four people, wooden pallets, a lemon squeezer which is one of my indispensable ones, kitchen scissors, a scissors, a potato peeler, the French press and the glasses for the wine. No more! Ah! and my quesilleras that can not be missing!

I dream of the day when I have to go out and buy one more set of dishes because my family in Venezuela is coming to visit me. I have imagined that visit many times, I wish it with all my heart! 

But, while it happens, I make video calls and from my kitchen I share what I cook and, many times, they have accompanied me during meals.

Amo mi cocina de hoy, con su estilo de colores claros en su mayoría, fresco e iluminado. Muchas cosas he vivido, en tan solo un año,  en ese pequeño espacio que se llena de amor todos los días. Ahí, compartí cafecitos virtuales con mi mamá, por eso ella tiene su rinconcito, siempre a mi lado. 

Me he inspirado para cocinarle delicioso a mi familia. Preparé las hallacas y los ponches en diciembre pasado para llevar nuestro sabor venezolano, con mucho orgullo, a los colombianos, y activar la memoria gustativa a mis hermanos venezolanos. Las caras de felicidad y hasta lágrimas de nostalgias fueron mi mayor satisfacción. 

En mi cocina, tengo pocos utensilios, los necesarios para compartir amor, aunque sea por tandas porque tengo sólo una vajilla de cuatro platos y un juego de cubiertos para cuatro personas, paletas de madera, exprimidor de limones que es de mis indispensables, tijera de cocina, rayo, pelapapas, la prensa francesa y las copas para el vinito. ¡No más! ¡Ah! ¡y mis quesilleras que no pueden faltar!

Sueño con el día en que tenga que salir a comprar una vajilla  más porque mi familia en Venezuela me viene a visitar. Esa visita me la he imaginado muchas veces, ¡la deseo con toda mi alma! 

Pero, mientras sucede, hago videollamadas y desde mi cocina comparto lo que cocino y, muchas veces, me han acompañado durante las comidas.

This is my kitchen, my little corner of light and creativity. In this little corner there is a party when my daughter, my son-in-law and the dogs come to visit me. 

I am very happy to receive them. We get together for special meals, for a few glasses of wine, even if we do not have any important date because we are very clear, for some time now, that every day is a reason to celebrate and, although it sounds cliché now, we have to live every day as if it were the last, and what better place than in the bosom of our home, in the living soul of the house.

 The most beautiful place where the most beautiful memories are simmered.

Esta es mi cocina, mi rinconcito de luz y creatividad. En este rinconcito hay fiesta cuando mi hija, mi yerno y los perritos vienen a visitarme. 

Me alegra mucho recibirlos. Nos reunimos para comidas especiales, para unas copitas de vino, aunque no tengamos ninguna fecha importante porque tenemos muy claro, de un tiempo para acá, que  todos los días son un motivo de celebración y, aunque suene a cliché ya, tenemos que vivir cada día como si fuera el último, y que mejor lugar que en el seno de nuestro hogar, en el alma viva de la casa. 

El lugar más bonito en el  que se cocinan, a fuego lento, los más bellos recuerdos.

In my kitchen, there is never a lack of flowers. In Cumaná, I cut them from my garden. When I arrived in Bogotá, I found the most beautiful varieties and the possibility of buying the ones I wanted. So they have always been present, and now even more, because they are gifts that I give to my mother every week.   

Also, I like to have in my kitchen a beautiful message that reminds me that words are the best sustenance, that life is beautiful and that God is good, always.

> En mi cocina, nunca faltan las flores. En Cumaná, las cortaba de mi jardín. Cuando llegué a Bogotá, me encontré con las más hermosas variedades y la posibilidad de comprar las que yo quisiera. Así que siempre han estado presente, y ahora más, porque son regalos que le pongo a mi mamá cada semana.   

> También, me gusta tener en mi cocina un mensaje bonito que me recuerda que las palabras son el mejor sustento, que la vida es bella y que Dios es bueno, siempre.

Ha sido un placer recibirlos en mi cocina, amigos de #creativecuisine, mi rinconcito de paz, mi espacio de creación y de amor para mi familia y para mis lectores, en quienes pienso, también, cuando preparo alguna receta. Me esmero en dejarles lo mejor de mi cocina  con mucho cariño.
