Why most locks are just security theatre.
**Did you know** - that almost everything from *gas pumps to police squad cars to elevators and vending machines* **use standard duplicate key cuts that can be purchased online ?**

This was a great presentation by Deviant Ollam and Howard Payne at the 2016 HOPE conference. Even as someone who's been an amateur locksmith and fascinated by physical security mechanisms since I was 16 even I was still shocked at how bad the current situation has gotten.

**I'll be ordering a few of the most common key types** - *when the shit hits the fan / the zombies take over these could be the difference between life and death / thriving or starving*.

**Obviously I'm not condoning or encouraging illegal behaviour** - just education on our current reality.
