QOTW - What would I ask God and why?

The ecoTrain [question of the week](https://ecency.com/hive-123046/@ecotrain/ecotrain-qotw-98-if-you-could-ask-god-one-question-and-god-would-give-you-an-immediate-answer-what-would-the-question-be-and-w) is:

So this one really got me thinking and initially, I thought I would ask for the future price of Bitcoin on a future date so that I could either buy or short and accumulate myself a fortune.  Well, that would have been a selfish waste of a question.

Instead, I decided on:

> Why do you let madmen continue to wage war on the world inflicting suffering on the innocent?

## Why this question?

First of all, it is topical and I am sure like many on Hive, it is heartbreaking to see yet another conflict that seemingly serves no purpose but to stroke the ego of a madman.  Every day people suffer for what?  It is ludicrous and so sad that we are in this place, yet again.

The deeper reason for this question is that for those debating the existence of God, one of the hardest arguments to settle is why does god let so much suffering exist.  If God is good - why let so much evil prevail?

We see this evil perpetrated in the actions of Putin and his regime by inflicting harm on everyday innocent citizens who are innocently caught up in Putin's egotistical dream.  How does God let madmen like this continue in what they do?

The usual argument is, if God created everything then God has also created good and evil.  This is used as an argument against those who believe in God.

## What would I want to hear?

I am not sure if any answer to this question would fully satisfy the soul because whatever the answer, it is still heartbreaking to watch the news and see the suffering.  The answer I would want to hear though is that this is a necessary side effect of giving us "free will", that as humans we can decide the course of action we take in our lives than necessarily some can choose to take an evil path that will inflict harm on others.  Restricting this would in turn take away the freedom of will - to choose exactly what we do.

Further, it is how we respond to the evil of others that is also important.  Do we exploit the situation for our own greedy end? Do we sit by and watch and say "what can I do"? Or, do we take a stand and make a difference?

Free will brings tests and challenges for all.

Exactly.  And sometimes we regret our actions, we seek forgiveness for what we have done.  Even if we are forgiven it is often impossible to escape the consequences.  Hmm, not sure Putin is going to regret anything though.

It is. I'm at 8,8 now. You get a complete one when you reply !hivebits to your own post (with all small letters) and 0,9 when you write it in someone else's post (the "someone else" gets the 0,1 in that case). Limited to 1 per day.
I'm still struggling with POSH myself. I also don't have enough time and motivation for Twitter, so tell em somehow when you post something, than I'll enter and like + retweet.
I just Tweetet my ast 7 posts, so please like and retweet. Important for  Posh is that this has been done within 24h...
