I've learned that you can categorize your friends into 4 buckets and then you will know where to spend your time with.

1. Battery-draining friends
2. Memory Friends
3. Business Friends
4. Growth Friends

Useless friends are those drains your life battery. Best to avoid contact.

Memory friends are those from your school, university that you still keep in touch once in a blue moon.

Business friends are those that will help you in business or career. Spend more time with them.

Growth friends are rare. They help you grow as a person, they encourage you, they counsel you, they listen to you. Spend the most time with them, because they charge your battery.
