In the last week, we had a meal with friends, some of whom were Steemians like @mukhtar-juned. That said, this was a joint dinner for a farewell party, even though it was too small to be called a party. Our friend, @mukhtar-juned, will get a new assignment in Banda Aceh, the capital of Aceh Province.

We chose the Panglima Khupie Essence located on Jalan Medan - Banda Aceh, Simpang Buloh, Meunasah Masjid, Cunda, Lhokseumawe. The main menu here is “ayam penyet”, which is chicken which is crushed by pounding it.

But that night we did not choose chicken because it was not the main menu in a tradition of celebrating something. We chose goat curry. Not all friends can enjoy mutton. So, chicken and a few pieces of fish remain. But most enjoy the goat curry.

We also ordered yellow rice made in such a way as a pyramid. People in Indonesia call it "nasi tumpeng" which is usually used in certain events, such as birthdays or celebrations—whatever.

We ordered one goat to be cooked in curry form so we could sip the hot sauce on a cloudy night. We also ordered cucumber juice. People say, eating goat meat will make blood pressure go up. So, cucumber juice and watermelon are believed to be able to neutralize blood pressure.

True or not, but in all restaurants both traditional and modern in Aceh, certainly provide cucumber juice as a complementary menu of goat curry. That night, we also ordered watermelons as a closing menu.

After enjoying the curried goat we mixed with a little white rice and some people also ate yellow rice, we enjoyed watermelon as a closing menu. Some people also order coffee. I avoided coffee because it was late, worried I could not sleep because of the influence of caffeine.

The Panglima Khupie Essence provides many types of food and drinks. The location is very strategic because it is on the edge of Jalan Medan - Banda Aceh which is a trans-Sumatra road. This place also has a large parking area so as to provide comfort for visitors.

If one day you pass through Lhokseumawe City, you can stop by the Panglima Khupie Essence. This place is open until the morning, it is also an option for travelers. But if it's morning, the food choices are not much anymore.

About the price, do not worry. The Panglima Khupie Essence is suitable for the wallet of travelers who want to downsize. With $ 2 USD, you have enjoyed a plate of rice with chicken and a glass of coffee. But if you order goat curry, you should prepare more money.[]

But if you order goat curry, of course it's more expensive. []
