It's been a while since we saw some great examples of how people should leverage blockchain technology to monetize their content, arts or craft but now we do. 

Although I'm not a comic fan, it's rather interesting how these names are popping in to maximize the growing community of crypto and blockchain enthusiasts. First I'd like to note that I'm not certain how these contents(cómics) are hosted, whether on a blockchain network or not, but I can say that the technologies that advances the use of blockchain are being leveraged as a pathway to unlock comic stories and also monetize the process. 

Over the years, we've gone through systematic flaws where companies milk value from people's crafts just because they are in a position that allows that. This has made it difficult for individuals to maximize their art to its full potential. Heck I recently read a story about Justin Bieber selling his entire music catalogue for $200 million, upon this I discovered that he actually only owns 20% of his music, thus the revenue, crazy or what? Apparently this has something to do with record labels and these people can be monsters and independent artists really be living the life out there. 

Similarly, the comics industry has seen artist suffer the same, with companies like Marvel eating up so much potentials and turning in house-hold names of characters whereas the creators of these shit can barely point at the profits made from developing these characters, such a shame.

We see here how creators are generally robbed of their work, with even digital creators such as YouTubers, and even private blog owners having Google put a knife in their neck, the hustle is real but the pay is ripped off by these giants in the space, there's literally less ability to maximize the markets, well, not anymore:

### NFTs to the rescue

It seems the comics may not be hosted directly on a blockchain network for obvious reasons, but I believe when powerful encryption technology gets developed, we'll have more blockchain usage for things like this. 

So, apparently, NFTs will serve as gate passes to access these comics on 237comics, so while Sean is working on "Genesis" comic, interested readers are scooping up some NFTs that will enable them access these pieces. To do this you must have a cryptocurrency wallet with the NFT in it, most likely, so while the content itself isn't hosted on the distributed ledger, other technologies of the ecosystem are being leveraged to build out the community, which is awesome. 

NFTs will always serve as a great tool for content monetization where musicians, content creators and artists can leverage it to build better relationships with their audience or fans and monetize their crafts while at it. Reports note that these comics will also be available in comics stores, so while protected by NFTs, it will still be accessible in physical form, this shows how NFTs can be used to protect brands and also offer an easy path for monetization.
