I admit, I've been sleeping on the idea for quite some time now but due to the recent noise from Elon Musk Twitter takeover and how the "users" cause I wouldn't call that a community are reacting to it. Speaking of which, it's rather clear that something quite huge is missing on Twitter and this alone could potentially leave people with the idea that the social network isn't in fact a free speech ecosystem(which is true).

## The great realization

When it comes to creating and deploying a truly decentralized platform that enables free speech with not the slightest chance of centralization, there's quite a lot of pieces to it, and it isn't something achievable in a day, two weeks or even 5 months, it takes way more time before such technology and its ecosystem can attain true resistance to censorship on the base layer.

In this aspect, we can draw our attentions back to Hive, I know, I'm only but one of the many that believes hive has solved quite a handful of problems the broader crypto network is trying to, and people here keep asking why is it that nobody sees this from out there, but it's pretty simple;

## Most people are not ready for the conflict of "Free Speech"

How do you understand that?

Let's take a look at Twitter in it's current stage, we should be able to see a great wave of crazy ass contents, from pornography in great numbers(which I don't expect many to care about) to racist contents, the platform is really yet to see crazy shits.

But then, people have the impression that regardless of what is being promoted today as "Free Speech", the platform will at some point attempt to control what is being posted.

In fact, the attempts to stop bots on Twitter is even breaking the idea of free speech, if you have to introduce "money" to limit bots(the blue checkmarks bullshit isn't even gonna do that), then you're actually going against the idea because these bots are operated by people, so, indirectly, you're stopping this people from operating, but I'm sure nobody thought of it that way!

Thankfully, Resource credit limitations on Hive are more of an incentivization than a barrier.

But what's really about people ignoring hive? You see, free speech means risking taking lots of bullshit, yes, on Hive, you can literally post anything, and by that, even direct attacks, insults, threats perhaps, these are the bad waves of content.

No "centralized" platform can offer that freedom because people, governments inclusive will come for their necks, but whose neck you gonna go for on Hive? Me? You don't even fuckin know me, the day I live this earth, nobody is gonna know, but then, that isn't even the case, even as with people on Hive that can be recognised in the real world, you still cannot go after them because they don't control the system.

*So how does hive manage to control this shits without "centralization"?*

## The answer is Communities

This is what Twitter is lacking, and the fact that content does not display organically but via their algorithms makes it even difficult to navigate the platform, don't dare tell me they have "Twitter circle" that is a whole different bullshit.

Where Frontends can mute users they don't like, new communities can emerge as a result and operate without being censored and even new Frontends can be deployed over the same structure, literally giving everyone the ability to not fear censorship and actually own their contents and activities.

The design of Hive allows this, so I believe the future really holds much, the expansion of this ecosystem could potentially lead to people forgetting there's an underlying reward system, given the value mechanism that can be deployed at ease.

High time we realise that we don't have to care what people are doing or saying, and just focus on building out a flexible and user-friendly blockchain.

*Thank you and please leave a comment, your thoughts matter to me*
