Talking about the Metaverse can sometimes feel like a crime given the already stacked up narrative that the technology marketed can never be actualized and what is perceived as the new phase of social and business experience is just a buzzword, but we have to be wary of what people don't believe in, it's more likely what holds a lot of potentials.
## The Technologies that make it great
Many love to dig up AI or perhaps Virtual or augmented reality as the best features when talking about the Metaverse, but the reality is that these things already exist and already have an active market, what the Metaverse looks to achieve is yet to attain the desired market space.
## Smart Contracts
Personally, I cannot tell how exactly things will unfold, but I can speculate as it's much easier to play around with figures in relation to industry demand and human evolution. Smart contracts are frankly the build blocks of the Metaverse, obviously blockchain is the fundamental structure and upon this structure, smart contracts are the needed features to build out more industry wide utilities and flexible products.
Smart Contracts come in line with AI, given that automation is a huge part of artificial intelligence, so the technology that scales the Metaverse will have smart contracts as a core network piece.
## Non-fungible Tokens(NFTs)
At this point, it is fair to say that Metaverse is hugely reliant on the success of the cryptocurrency space, the attempt to build outside this ecosystem is being set up to fail. Non-fungible Tokens, even though bored monkeys and gorillas have given the outside world a terrible impression, are still an important piece of the ecosystem. We already see how this can reduce the high rate of fake product circulations, with the Metaverse integrating digital assets and property with these contract tokens, NFTs, the space in turn benefits from its unique nature, giving users a sense of security, value and ownership of Meta structures and products.
## Cryptocurrencies - scaling the Metaverse financial structures
The technology positions itself as a business network and strives to deliver the necessary ease of operating in such environments. As we know, cryptocurrency is the only cross border payment system that has been able to achieve financial security, ease and flexible spending, low cost and little to zero verification requirements, thus, likewise serves as a viable technology to ease finance in the Metaverse.
Although many blindly call the system out for having no intrinsic value, the truth remains that cryptocurrency has already solved varieties of global financial flaws and at this point stands to be the alternative to the Swift network, which hasn't been very easy to use.
All of these features are the new business technologies, smart contracts, easing labour and boosting productivity, thus giving a great user experience. Non-fungible Tokens, increasing asset security and uniqueness, given the nature of digital properties, Non-fungible Tokens build trust into the system with token contracts that combat fake product circulation. And cryptocurrency, enabling peer to peer and immune to double spending transactions, not to forget ease, speed and low cost.
The way I see it, the system goes from cryptocurrency, to smart contracts to Non-fungible Tokens, to building the immutable web(web3) to being fully packed for deployment of the Metaverse business environment. So much can be actualized with time of carefully building out the needed solutions, we are witnessing a transition in not just finance or social media, but a transition in how we live life, generally.
