If you reside in a rough location you'd probably know better how thieves are treated, not for once have I witness them spared, it's always a rough experience regardless of what was stolen or how little it was!


I attended an Online school for writers last year, pretty much completed a few courses before the loads became too much on me as though I had a new life and job to build from, that was when I became blogging on Leofinance. It was always assignments upon assignments, sometimes we had some not mandatory assignments just for fun, but it was always tempting to try them out because of the later benefits of it. 

One thing I achieved from my online school was how to make my articles look presentable. This has everything to do with choice of language, text format and images chosen. Else writing a good worded out article, this little things gives more credit to your work. My choice of language has always been going with a simplified vocabulary, just so that I could reach a wider audience, even though I most times attach a bit of humor in there, it's always in a friendly language

Now, I'll start by asking a very straight forward question... 

###### How would you feel when you spent hours preparing a project and then someone else takes credit for it? 


I can tell that it's not a good feeling. In my school the moment you plagiarise an assignment, you're out! But you are always welcome to try again next session, that is, if only you'd change.

The first thing you should notice from the definition above if you're really observant, is that it is quoted and there's a link to the source where it's gotten from! 

By doing this, I have actually made the first step to avoid taking credits for that definition! I didn't call it mine because it's not, and to add to my honesty, I left a reference link giving the original author the full credit for it! 

Plagiarizing a content is highly consequential, in a lawful sense, one can actually get sued to court and billed everything he got for such act. But sadly very few know how much of a crime it is. 


While writing an article, especially when it's a research article whereas there will definitely be need for the attachment of external informations. It is highly recommended that one takes note of the external informations, present them in systemically quoted formed like what I did above or by using this type of quotes (" "), and most times it's recommended you leave a link to the reference page. 

This not only shows that you're a good content creator, it also shows that you value the efforts of others and wouldn't want to take away the spotlight that should be on them.

A standard system believes that a content creator should own 80% of any content presented! If at all any form of the entire work has to be externally obtained, it should be at the range of 20% or lower. A certain badge is given to contents with 80% author claim uniqueness, and that's the 'OC' badge which is an acronym for Original Content.

The tools may not be required if you're a writer who knows just how to brush up an article regardless of the external informations. 

Anyway, by possessing such badges on your content both you and the platform where the publication is made, are in an agreement that you pretty much own the bigger percentage of the work, just between or above the 80% mark.

Unlike the random social media lifestyle, where we see a story online and feel we should share it with our friends. This is pretty normal, everyone understands that people won't click on random links, so the best thing to do is copy and paste the entire story on our social media Handles. This is totally different compared to what should be done on Crypto fueled platforms, where content monetization has been made simple. Posting things on your socials get you no money in the process, but on here, whereas you could make a ton of money, it is not acceptable! If community members "US ALL" don't take actions on these set of people, there's a possibility that they could one day get into the hands of the law and face higher charges. 


Not only articles get plagiarized, videos and images too are. Copyrights without legal rights get penalized. The image aspect most times get overlooked, but the possibility of getting sued if you accidentally used a "not free" image is always there. 

Plagiarism only lowers a person's standard and therein treats the original content owners wrongly. It is never the right move so we all should fight against it by checking ourselves first, then examine others. That way, we all contribute and keep the system clean.
