Tell me why my world is dark,
Crazily filled with pains of the past.
The present which I dared to live is filled with nothingness,
And I just don't know why suicide seems like the next step.

You came and told me you were here to help,    
I need not worry because all is well.
But here I am with none to help.
In a world where every step I take screams hell.

Was it meant to be like this?
Giving unfulfilled promises to a lass like me,
It was better when I knew I had no one.
Before you came and lift my hopes.

Tell me why I shouldn't get a rope,
And let my leg dangle free with a lifeless soul.
Though I do not know what lies ahead,
But I am sure it will be less hell.

Verily, I say unto thee,
You scandalous malicious being,
Why do you think it is fun?
To break was left of my world.

I was told tomorrow will be better,
That I was a leader,
And I grew up with a great dream to lead,
But, all I found was greed.

Tell me why goodbyes are fun,
Many have left without saying the word,
Not because they want to be gone,
But poverty says no more.

Stillborn promises pave the way to cruelty,
And I have one message for the next kin,
Don't make the mistake of coming into this world,
For it is filled with endless war.

Poetry does have deep meanings attached to them. And each stanza of this poem speaks greatly about life.

How swiftly our leaders lie to get to be elected. Only to forget those words of theirs like they never existed.

It is sad and frustrating to see how war has taken over the world. Two old scandalous homo-sapiens coming together with their pot-bellied oversized shirt to send young lass and lad to war. Only to come to terms and shake hands at the end of it all. 

They do not care that millions of 
lives were lost. After all, the population of mankind will increase again. Sad truth.

Oh, the chronic pain of being poor. No matter how one toil, poverty can't be washed when the nation is doomed.

Let's take Nigeria for instance, the hike in fuel has made many pull out their savings to survive the bare minimum. And it is saddening to see how people work hard to survive. How are you meant to rise again without the fatigue of it all getting to you? A crazy world we live in.

Many have sorted suicide as the last hope. And who am I to blame them when I can barely take care of myself.?It is heartbreaking to see people have lost their will to fight. They are just cracked shells waiting to be broken so they can fall.

*"Education is the best legacy"*, so we were told. But how can you explain to a young lass or lad that education is the best when you as an educated being can hardly eat once a day? Painfully ironical.

I can't hope because the word doesn't make sense. But they say; 

> *"Some things don't have to make sense, right?"*

Maybe I will just add this to the list.

My pen bleeds for those who can barely eat twice a day. What will their world be like now? Poor souls and poor little me.
