Hello Pilots! Welcome to my entry for @digital-wisdom's @exodegame [Federal Database challenge](https://peakd.com/exode/@digital-wisdom/federal-database-challenge). This is going to be quite the adventure so I have decided to get a little creative. For this challenge, I am using only the cards I own and as per the instructions we are assuming all cards are fully upgraded. # The Grabber- Syndicate Attack Force (SAF)

# Origin Elected Leader (Syndicate Chip) # Ship - Amarasia (equipped with planet Scan) # Officers -Welfare Specialist (many civilians on a military mission need to be looked after) - Comms Officer (Military Suits Class A, Syndicate Blaster) (Diplomacy, Comms to help communicate with keepers) - Ayumi (Arena Powersuit) # Crew - Kilbot (SAF) - Programed Transactor (To make into a Bomb) - Syndicate Hacker (Hack Keeper Orbital shield, concert Programed Transactor into a bomb) - Propaganda Specialist (work to disguise the ship and convince keepers of diplomatic mission) - Maintenance Crew (assist Syndicate Hacker) - Population Specialist (gather intel on keeper colony) - Space Surgeon (aid with the wounded) # Passengers - Tech Expert (help syndicate Hacker) - Drachian Commissioner (Discipline, Invetigation) - Nuclear Family (Further convince the keepers of a civilian ship) - Mysterious AI (aid in hacking, disguising attack) - Unstable Genius (Help locate the Federal Database in the Planet) # Cargo - Supply Dropship (to carry the Programmed Transactor to the low atmosphere) - Velvet Storm X2 (Transport the SAF to the objective) - Robotics Parts (Spare Parts if needed) - Management Console - chips and data - Computer Room - Ship Construction Parts

# Strategy (Operation Badger Blast) Similar to the way the Russians invaded Afghanistan, I will use the art of surprise to secure the Federal Database from the keeper. Disguised as a Civillian vessel and crew we will slowly approach the keeper occupied planet. Our ship is fully stocked with civilian cargo and crew (with a small security force as well). One main defense will be the keepers ship that is in orbit around the planet. They have exhausted all fuel traveling to the planet so we must approach while the are on the opposite side of the planet. If we compare the orbiting ship to the ISS of earth each orbit is about 92 minutes, [source](https://www.quora.com/How-long-does-it-take-for-the-ISS-to-orbit-the-Earth?share=1). If we approach just as the ship is passing by, we have roughly an hour and some change to complete our mission while they are out of the fight. The Elected leader will hail the planet... If they respond: Allow them to scan the ship and tell them the little security detachment is because of the grabber presence in the sector. Once the Scan is complete the Syndicate Hacker will program the Programmed Transactor into a bomb. The Elected leader will offer diplomatic gifts and secret information regarding the grabbers in exchange for the opportunity to visit the planet on a diplomatic mission. If the keepers agree we will send down a drop ship with the bomb and detonate it in the atmosphere creating an EMP wiping out any electronic defenses on the planet. IE, if they have an orbital shield they will lower it to allow the drop ship. With the defenses down, the attack force will shuttle down in 2 velvet racers and secure the Database. If the keepers disagree to a diplomatic visit the Syndicate Hacker will hack the orbital shield then we will detonate the EMP and launch the SAF. If they donβt respond at all to our hails: the syndicate hacker will hack the orbital shield then we will detonate the EMP and launch the SAF. The ground forces of the SAF will consist of the following team: Kumicho and Kilbot in a velvet racer Ayumi and Comms Officer (to keep perfect comms with our ship that will be tracking the database) in a second Velvet Racer. Gear (weapons and ammo) will be limited as the short duration of the mission and must look the part of a civilian vessel with a small security detachment. Locating the database may prove difficult but with scans of the planet from the ship, kumicho and Ayumi on the spot interrogations, and crew working to find it; the database should be located quickly and returned to the ship. Once on the ground the small elite force will move in quickly to secure the database. I understand someone might be clever and store the database on the orbiting ship. In that case I assume it is mission failure unless I can attempt to board the ship with a velvet racer, which would certainly be suicide. # Keeper (Ft. Knoxode)

Without question, I chose the military origin of Navy Lieutenant. The Military, Spaceship, and warfare synergies provided by the origin will go along way fighting to the death defending the Federal Database. The Navy Commander will have command of the ground tactical forces as well as the defensive buildings on the planets surface (which will be revealed later on in the post). I would like to mention that he will be Chipped with a syndicate Chip. The Archeon Frigate spaceship will be in low orbit using the planets gravity as propulsion. The onboard Tacscan and Long Range Scanners will be able to pick up on any incoming enemy ships and its massive defensive capabilities will protect the planet from them. Tyron will be piloting the Archeon Frigate with his warfare, spaceship, hard points synergies he will provide a very useful service to the first line of defense against those pesky grabbers. # Officers - Alanna Vos will second in command to the Navy Lieutenant. She wasn't happy about this decision but respects the chain of command. Her synergies will be welcomed bonuses to combat and defense. Her main station will be in the defensive bunker. - Stug (military suit, galactic peacemaker, party ammo) (Synergies and Combat) will be stationed in the underground Construction. - Drachian Colonel Will remain on the ship with Tyron to make sure he stays strong in the face of the enemy. # Equipment - Federal Database (hidden in underground construction). - Medical Bay to be installed in the underground Construction. # Cargo - Vangaurd. Patrolling the planet surface. (secrecy is not an option, this is also a show of force.) - Orbital Shield - Defensive Bunker - Xgen TR-100 - Security Drone (roving Patrols) - Radar Array - Underground Construction (Used to house Medical Bay and Federal Database) - Automatic Turret # Passenger - Tech Expert. Wire booby traps, monitor security systems, work on agricultural systems. - Mysterious AI. Help monitor systems and act as a final warning system if all humans are killed. - Kumicho (arena powersuit, Galactic Peacemaker, party ammo). Stationed in the Underground Construction patrolling the halls. - Drachian Commissar (Military Suits Class A, Syndicate Blaster, Party Ammo). Aboard the Frigate to add +2 synergy for Drachian Col. - Unstable Genius. Hopefully can help in defensive tactics - Ayumi (Arena Powersuit). Stationed in the Underground Construction patrolling the halls. # Crew Tyron is the pilot and remains on the ship. These are the remaining officers of Ft. Knox. - Kilbot (Self eXplanitory) will be stationed in the underground Construction. - Federal Marine. (Military Suits Class A, Syndicate Blaster, Party Ammo)He will be stationed in the bunker with Alanna Vos. - Defense Specialist. (Military Suits Class A, Syndicate Blaster, Party Ammo) He will driving the Vangaurd. - Military Engineer (Military Suits Class A, Syndicate Blaster, Party Ammo)In underground Construction to reprogram Programmed Transactor. - Radar Specialist. (Military Suits Class A, Syndicate Blaster, Party Ammo) To control radars to detect incoming enemies. - Space Surgeon (Military Suits Class A). Stationed in the medical bay to aid the wounded. - Programed Transactor. Reprogrammed to become a bomb that detonates when someone takes the Federal Database. # Defensive Strategy Given the information from the contest rules I am assuming food water, and, oxygen will all be provided by the planet's habitat. At any given time my crew and passengers can be used to acquire food and water by hunting and foraging. We do not plan on staying long and hope that there arent many external threats IE viruses, natural disaster, etc. The security Drone and Vanguard will conduct roving patrols and the automatic turrets will provide additional defense against approaching aircraft. The defensive bunker is built on top of the underground construction and is the only way to enter the facility. If the grabbers make it passed all defenses and enter the underground construction, the Programmed Transactor has been wired by the military engineer to detonate if the Federal Database is removed. The pressure of the blast from a fully upgraded Programed Transactor will liquify anything regardless if they are wearing a suit or not. The mysterious AI acts as a fail safe if there are no more living crew members to detonate the device. Kaboom!!! Well, this has been one heck of an adventure and I cannot wait to see how my builds hold up against these other amazing Captains!!! Thanks @digital-wisdom for putting this on and good luck to all! -@balticbadger If you are interested in playing please use my [referral link](https://exodegame.com/?ref=a40b00d) here or simply enter my code: a40b00d before checkout.

Nice idea, but EMP doesn't work the way you assume and all military grade electronic hardware today is hardened against it. Firstly, conventional explosives (such as on Programmed Transactor) can only create EMP in a very limited radius (ie few hundred meters). You'd have to get your Programmed Transactor right next to Keeper Base to have any impact at all. Even the most powerful thermo-nuclear EMP devices do not create planet wide EMP. Even EMP from the detonation of a large thermonuclear device high in the atmosphere does not affect the sort of weapons systems we have in Exode. The main effect of wide scale EMP is to induce large electrical imbalances in transmission lines (long electrical conductors) and wreck power grids. Its easy to protect against this by a small investment in protective devices in power grids. Israel did this years ago but the US hasn't done so. Finally, EMP will not penetrate underground installations, which many Keepers are using.

Thanks for reading it! I definitely imagine a thermo nuke (at least a mini one), but I couldn't really think of anything else. Interesting to see what the others have.
