Минулими вихідними я була в Українському домі у Києві на виставці, присвяченій Аллі Горській. Вона відкрилася 14 березня і буде тривати до 28 квітня 2024 року. Тому я дуже раджу не пропустити цю подію.
> Last weekend I was at the Ukrainian House in Kyiv at the exhibition dedicated to Alla Gorska. It opened on March 14 and will continue until April 28, 2024. Therefore, I strongly advise you not to miss this event.

Свій огляд я почала із верхнього поверху, де виставлені роботи, що взяли участь у цьогорічному проєкті «А4, Кулькова ручка». Його започаткувала в 2006-му Галерея Карась, і з того часу він проводиться щороку. В проєкті приймають участь малюнки, намальовані кульковою ручкою на листку формату А4.
> I started my review from the upper floor, where the works that participated in this year's project "A4, Ballpoint" are exhibited. It was started in 2006 by the Karas Gallery, and since then it has been held every year. Drawings drawn with a ballpoint pen on an A4 sheet of paper take part in the project.
Я вперше бачила такі роботи, і вони мені дуже сподобались. Дуже цікаво було спостерігати, що можна створити при таких обмежених можливостях. Дуже багато малюнків присвячені війні. Деякі намальовані зовсім молодими українцями, і їхні роботи розказують про їхній страх і пережитий досвід. Евакуація, повернення...
> I saw such works for the first time, and I really liked them. It was very interesting to see what could be created with such limited possibilities. Many drawings are devoted to the war. Some are painted by very young Ukrainians, and their works tell about their fear and survival. Evacuation, returning...

**Боривітер**. Алла Горська була дисиденткою, художницею-монументалісткою, однією з перших представниць андерграунду, учасницею правозахисного руху 1960-х в Україні. Убита КДБ в 1970.
Виставка названа на честь її мозаїки "Боривітер", яка знаходилась у Маріуполі.
**Kestrel**. Alla Gorska was a dissident, a monumentalist artist, one of the first representatives of the underground, a participant in the human rights movement of the 1960s in Ukraine. Killed by KGB in 1970.
The exhibition is named after her mosaic "Kestrel", which was located in Mariupol. Kestrel is a bird from falcon family, its name in Ukrainian means "Windfighter". A very telling name.
У 1967 році Алла Горська, її чоловік Віктор Зарецький та їх творча група створили три великі мозаїки в маріупольському ресторані "Україна" - «Квітуча Україна», «Боривітер» та «Дерево Життя». У 2022 році вони були пошкоджені через російські обстріли. На кураторській екскурсії на сказали, що є відомості, що зараз цей ресторан зрівняли із землею, тому мозаїки загинули. На виставці можна побачити оригінальні ескізи, за якими робились мозаїки.
Експонати надані іншими музеями і приватними колекціонерами.
> In 1967, Alla Gorska, her husband Victor Zaretskyi and their creative team created three large mosaics in the Mariupol restaurant "Ukraine" - "Blooming Ukraine", "Boryviter" and "Tree of Life". In 2022, they were damaged by Russian shelling. On the curator's tour, they said that there is information that this restaurant has now been razed to the ground, which is why the mosaics have died. At the exhibition, you can see the original sketches, based on which the mosaics were made.
> Exhibits are provided by other museums and private collectors.

Виставка дуже потужна. Сюди варто прийти години на дві. Але все одно я була здивована великою кількістю відвідувачів. Була навіть екскурсія із перекладачем на англійську мову. Це дуже приємно і радісно, бо по-перше виставка розповідає про нашу культурну спадшину, а по-друге, про історію боротьби із російським та радянським режимом.
> The exhibition is very powerful. It is worth coming here for two hours. But still, I was surprised by the large number of visitors. There was even a tour with an English translator. This is very pleasant and joyful, because firstly, the exhibition tells about our cultural heritage, and secondly, about the history of the struggle against the Russian and Soviet regime.

Це ескіз мозаїки, із авторів якої Аллу Горську виключили за те, що вона підписала так званий лист 139-ти. Це був лист до керівництва СРСР з протестом проти переслідування і арештів і судів над дисидентами, який підписали діячі культури. Натомість режим почав репресії проти підписантів. Аллу Горську вдруге виключили із Спілки Художників.
> This is a sketch of the mosaic, from the authors of which Alla Gorska was excluded because she signed the so-called letter of 139. It was a letter to the leadership of the USSR with a protest against the persecution and arrests and trials of dissidents, signed by cultural figures. Instead, the regime started repression against the signatories. Alla Gorska was expelled from the Union of Artists for the second time.

А це ескіз вітражу для вестибюлю горовного корпусу університету імені Шевченка. Ескіз був схвалений. Наступнм етапом Алла зробила макет на дереві у повному розмірі. Але партійне керівництво назвало твір формалістично-ворожим. Чому Шевченко такий невдоволений? Чому мати така сумна? Хіба радянським людям не добре живеться?
Свідки переказували, що коли ректор побачив цей повнорозмірний ескіз, він власноруч розбив його молотком.
> And this is a sketch of a stained glass window for the lobby of the building of the Shevchenko University. The sketch was approved. As the next stage, Alla made a model on a tree in full size. But the party leadership called the work formalistic and hostile. Why is Shevchenko so dissatisfied? Why is the Mother so sad? Aren't Soviet people living well?
> Witnesses recounted that when the rector saw this full-size sketch, he smashed it with his own hand with a hammer.

На виставці є фото архівних документів КДБ, в яких йдеться про обставини смерті Алли Горської. Про стеження за організацією її похорону, про стеження через рік потому, коли люди збиралися, щоб вшанувати пам"ять художниці.
Тіло Алли Горської із ранами на голові від удару сокири знайшли 2 грудня 1970 року в погребі будинку її свекра. Самого свекра знайшли на кілька днів раніше біля залізничної на коліях знайшли з відрізаною головою.
> The exhibition includes photos of archival documents of the KGB, which talk about the circumstances of Alla Gorska's death. About monitoring the organization of her funeral, about monitoring a year later, when people gathered to honor the memory of the artist.
> Alla Gorska's body was found on December 2, 1970 in the cellar of her father-in-law's house with wounds on the head from an ax blow. The father-in-law himself was found a few days earlier near the railroad tracks with a severed head.
Це фото зробили шпигуни КДБ під час похорону. Є також списки людей, які там були.
Доля Алли схожа на долі інших українських дисидентів, борців за права, за свою українську ідентичність.
Але є одна велика відмінність. Вона була представником "золотої молоді" післявоєнного часу. Її сім"я була багатою, на вечірки Аллу возив особистий водій її батька на службовому Шевроле. У них було вдосталь їжі, грошей, квартира в центрі Києва. Але вона не терпіла брехні, не терпіла несправедливості і насильства.
Її життя є прикладом для всіх нас. Особливо зараз.
> This photo was taken by KGB spies during the funeral. There are also lists of people who were there.
> Alla's fate is similar to the fate of other Ukrainian dissidents, fighters for rights, for their Ukrainian identity.
> But there is one big difference. She was a representative of the "golden youth" of the post-war period. Her family was rich, Alla was driven to parties by her father's personal driver in an official Chevrolet. They had plenty of food, money, an apartment in the center of Kyiv. But she did not tolerate lies, injustice and violence.
> Her life is an example for all of us. Especially now.

На останок додам, що враховуючи великий інтерест до виставки Український Дім вирішив перетворити останні п’ять днів виставки на фестиваль. Він відбудеться з 24 по 28 квітня.
> Finally, I would like to add that, taking into account the great interest in the exhibition, the Ukrainian House decided to turn the last five days of the exhibition into a festival. It will take place from April 24 to 28.
