The autumn period ended, when the river water was especially transparent, the colors of nature faded away along with the foliage of plants, flocks of migratory birds flew away, and white snow fell. I was drawn to philosophical reflections on the essence of life. I am sure that thoughts about the meaning and purpose of life have been and are being visited by many people after 40 years. I was no exception here.
The impetus for current reflections was the picturesque diptych "The Newlyweds" - "Dead Lovers", it was created around 1450 by an unknown author. By the manner of writing, art critics attribute this ominous medieval painting to the anonymous "Master from Ulm".

Currently, half of the painting is in the Museum of Fine Arts, Strasbourg, France.
The second part of the painting is in Cleveland, USA.

On the first wing of the picturesque diptych, we see a couple of young people, captured immediately after the betrothal. Happy young people in love are dressed, and it is this fact that points us to the symbolism of bodily nudity in religious art.

In the Christian religious painting of the Middle Ages, nude bodies were not depicted with the aim of arousing voluptuous sensations in the viewer. This will happen later, with the arrival of modern art. In the Middle Ages, human nudity symbolized disaster, illness, death. The transition to the world where a person no longer needs any clothes.
And vice versa, the more and more elegant clothes the artist drew on the figures of people, the happier and healthier they seemed to the viewer.

This medieval diptych symbolically tells me that everything in the world is temporary, everything flows and everything changes. That all people, without exception, ultimately from happy young newlywed lovers become those depicted in the diptych on the right, and already forever and ever.
Known for the modern general diligent embellishment of the human body with clothes, cosmetics, tattoos and even relief muscles. I think that in fact it is only a respectable light veil that covers our true essence of atoms of protein bodies randomly gathered together.

But is it necessary to fall into despondency because of the transience of being? In no case! "While we are alive, there is no death, but death is, we are not," said Epicurus, the philosopher of Ancient Greece.
I think that we need to take care of ourselves and each other, remembering how fragile and weak our bodies are, and how fleeting our time is.

Закончился период осени, когда речная вода была особенно прозрачной,  краски природы угасли вместе с листвой растений, улетели стаи перелетных птиц, выпал белый снег. Потянуло на философские размышления о сущности бытия.  Уверен, что думы о смысле и цели жизни посещали и посещают многих людей после прожитых 40 лет. Я не стал здесь исключением.
Толчком нынешних размышлений  выступил живописный диптих "Новобрачные"- "Мертвые любовники",  он был создан около 1450 год неизвестным автором. По манере письма искусствоведы приписывают это зловещее средневековое полотно  анонимному "Мастеру из Ульма".

В настоящее время половина картины хранится в Музее изобразительных искусств, Страсбург, Франция. 
Вторая часть картины находится в Кливленде, США.
На первой створке живописного диптиха мы видим пару молодых людей, запечатленных сразу после обручения. Счастливые влюбленные молодые люди одеты, и именно этот факт указывает нам на символику телесной наготы в религиозном искусстве. 

В христианской религиозной живописи Средневековья обнаженные тела изображали не с целью вызвать у зрителя сладострастные ощущения. Это случится позже, с приходом искусства Нового времени. В Средневековье людская нагота символизировала бедствие, болезнь, смерть. Переход в тот мир, где человеку никакая одежда уже не потребуется. И наоборот, чем больше и нарядней одежды на фигурах людей рисовал художник, тем более счастливыми и здоровыми представлялись они зрителю.  

Мне  этот средневековый диптих символически говорит, что все на свете временно, все течет и все изменяется. Что все  люди без исключения,  в конечном счете из счастливых молодых  новобрачных любовников становятся теми, кто изображены на диптихе справа,  и уже на веки вечные.

Известно современное  всеобщее старательное приукрашивание человеческого тела одеждами, косметикой, татуировками и даже рельефными мышцами.  Думаю, что   на самом деле это лишь достойный уважения легкий флер, что покрывает нашу истинную сущность случайно собравшихся вместе атомов белковых тел.

Но надо ли впадать в уныние из-за скоротечности бытия? Ни в коем случае! "Пока мы живы, смерти нет, а смерть есть, нас нет", так говорил Эпикур, философ Древней Греции.
Думаю, что нам надо беречь себя и друг друга, помня как хрупки и слабы наши тела, и как скоротечно наше время.
