Whale manipulation or not - even if large traders known as [whales are in fact manipulating the markets](https://www.ccn.com/bitcoin-price-drop-from-20000-likely-due-to-market-manipulation-traders/) there are other factors to why Bitcoin and cryptos are decreasing in value as well. 

The most important factor, and one that is tangled with whale manipulation is lack of investor experience. The average age of crypto investors is mid 20's and most have zero experience with investing from even the regular markets. This means of course that they are very gullible and very easy to manipulate. I've read insane threads where these snowflake millenials are crying about how it even can be legal to let people lose money like this! It's a scam - because I'm losing money! 

Another thing is what is actually being implemented in the space, and what are only promises. Many alt coins are over-promising and under-delivering. So be aware that many altcoins are still overvalued. But also be aware that a few ones are very UNDERvalued.

When it comes to Bitcoin no one really knows. What we do know is that cryptocurrencies, both centralized and decentralized ones will take over the entire financial system eventually. And even though Amazon, Facebook and many other dinosaur companies will develop their own blockchains, and banks will develop their own blockchains, and governments will develop their own digital tokens - there will still be room for real decentralized currencies and new innovative companies who are funding their ideas with tokens. 

I suspect there is a good chance that Bitcoin will remain the entry level currency, the store of value and safe haven. Of course, it will not be those things before we see less volatility. And one important thing about that, that even financial people seem to "forget" when speaking of volatility is WHY there is volatility. It's mainly because of lack of liquidity. Lack of people invested. Lack of money. Which means, when Bitcoin hits 100,000 or 1 million, there will of course be much less volatility - as it will take a whole lot more money to create any price action. 

I do also understand that it is frustrating for people who have lost money on cryptos - which by now probably are most people. But this is the test. There were people who lost money on cryptos 4 years ago as well. There were people who wish they sold their Bitcoin at 5 dollars when they sold them at 1. There were people buying at 100 and selling at 20. And never got in again. 

People struggle with long term thinking and sticking to their plan. Whales and traders understand this psychological flaw in humans and exploit it. 

Continue to be invested in cryptos. Sure, get rid of potential bad tokens, but don't quit. Keep reading, keep listening, keep evolving. Keep engaging with the community. Those who don't give up will come out ahead. The others will lose once again when they buy in at 50,000 Bitcoin because they finally realized they missed the boat again. 

Don't be those peasants.
