It appears clear to many that the police state continues to openly perform operations like this, more and more in order to "normalize and condition the masses" for the continued rise of Big Brother like herding of the population so in due time, with civil unrest rising..... they will face less opposition from the unwitting, taxpaying masses.

No attack has every happened at a Superbowl or similar event here.

This is pretty clearly "Training the Population" that police statism is just -- fine and normal.

From all accounts,  there has been a PILE of police presence in town for DAYS AND DAYS --- and a TON of surveillance gear installed all around town as reported in detail with pictures from all kinds of residents if you scan twitter, etc.

- More than a dozen streets have been shut down at three major points within downtown Minneapolis

- The Minneapolis Convention Center (NFL Super Bowl Experience), Nicollet Mall (Super Bowl LIVE), and the site of the game, U.S. Bank Stadium. 

- These areas are guarded and patrolled by militarized forces.

- The Minneapolis Police Department is the agency in charge of security operations during Super Bowl LII.

-  60+ additional police departments from across the state of Minnesota have sent officers. 

- There's also over 400 National Guard members,  several hundred security contractors, county Sheriff’s Reserves, and over 10,000 civilian volunteers and United States Secret Service, ICE and FBI agents.

- Reps. from  FBI, DHS, and the Secret Service, along with MN police departments, , have been stationed at multiple command centers around Minneapolis to gather intel from the  hundreds of (newly installed) surveillance cameras, track social media, and monitor comm's on the ground during  this  weekend's events.
