I almost put about $1000 that I didn't have into BTC today.  I wanted to see if I made money off of the fork.  I then thought "It takes too much effort to do this".  I would first have to move the coins into a wallet that supports both chains.  I would then have to find an exchange that would convert to the highest "paying" chain.  Then I would have to "cash-out" everything to make the profit.

You can just move your btc to an exchange that supports both btc and bitcoin cash. There is a great group on facebook called 'Bitcoin Cash' containing detailed info on where and how.

I haven't been doing this very long, so as far as I'm concerned this is just par for the course. And I appreciate the trading opportunity that volatility presents. I am excited about bitcoin cash. It's an opportunity to profit from nothing. You can worry about the price of btc going down and play it safe (nothing wrong with that), but I like the idea of putting it all in and seeing what happens. I sold all my altcoins to capitalize on Bcash. Many ways to make $ here.

It is hard for newcomers like me to gauge the impact of things like Hard Forks and Segwit2.  I thought that, after Segwit2 locked in, an immediate hard form had been averted, at least till November.  Guess I still need to learn more.  Reading articles by experts on Steemit, I am also confused about what would be the impact on Bitcoin Cash price. Some experts believe that a lot of people will just sell as soon as coins are received and price will tank. Other experts have advocated picking up as many Bitcoin Cash as possible because the problems of block size will continue to plague bitcoin and would resurface in future.  These are the issues bothering me but for a person well versed in crypto like you, these th mag would be easy to handle. So I assume your comment on hating August 1st is because of the uncertainty and negativity the fork is adding to Bitcoin ( and crypto world in general).  I hope things work out well for everyone.
