I am not sure how one actually goes about building a following, a lot of the followers of my account were from early steem days when people were just following anyone. I do have some people that actually do follow but the reality is after almost 3 years likely less than 100 and certainly less than 500 real people.

It also depends on what you want for your blog/account I did not see an introduction post so not sure what your likes and dis likes are. From you postings I would guess you like games and comedy.

Finding a community or two that you enjoy would be a good place to start, Hive Gaming is one of the communities I follow as I like to check in there every now and then to see if there are any game reviews I'd be interested in.

I'm not sure if there is a Comedy community or not.

There are a lot of photography and Art communities. People and communities are always advertising contest, a good way to meet people and to build a following.

If you are a writer there are a lot of Author communities to help with writing freewrites tips and edit help.

Comments on content you like helps a lot on building a following and a reputation. make them real comments, actually read the content or look at and think about the art piece or photo.

I am not sure what you mean about the posting screen, if you are talking about the trending page, no real clue, like I said almost three years here and I have never made the trending page, but then again I don't have expansive type post, mostly just backyard photography stuff, (i'm not a blogger really). 

The PAL tribe, (peace, abundance and liberty), is a general purpose tribe and may be a good place to learn more, they also have a pretty active discord server, little radio shows and comedy shows and music shows, they have a lot of stuff to offer.

If making money is your primary goal here, it is a long hard road to get there and requires a whole lot of work, but if you are looking for a non nag social media site once you get used to it Hive is not bad at all, and there are places other than Youtube to post your video and get rewards such as 3speak and dtube, and there may be others also. For pod cast there is dsound which also works well for music.
