I really want to say that I fully understand and agree with this - but I can't because it's not so much gone over my head as jumped onto the next satellite launch rocket and headed off to space. But I do know that we will actually have a great time together, not understanding each other at all but still enjoying the fact sometimes you do not have to understand to realise some people are just incredible at what they do.

Going through bad times certainly changes someone and their thoughts, their life choices and much more. I am not happy for the bad times that i had neither but they made me the man that i am today. I think that the best thing that we can do is just to make the best out of what we have. Sure, suffering sucks a lot and marks you for life but it also gives you a different view on things and that view can be seen as a treasure. Personally, i try to see the positive side and when i think about my childhood and my parents i say: "Well at least i know what bad parenting does to someone and how important it is". Sure, i didn't need to go through such experiences to know that some things are bad but i cant change the past.

Truly, man has different stories and perspectives.

I've always thought peoples lack of understanding that we all have a different perspective hinders communication. Even in the same situation, people can see if differently.

The continual confusion of "different" and "better" in some segments of our society is a continuing source of frustration to me. No, folks, just because something is different or even just new doesn't mean that it's a better means of achieving an end or more efficient. Sometimes it does, when we're talking about mechanical processes, but _not_ when discussing social or personal ones.

This goes hand-in-hand with the idea of "noble suffering." Suffering does _not_ make one noble. Often it makes one more petty, more inward-striving, and more risk-hungry, but in a social system where the biggest set of Misery Balls(tm) seem to earn the right to shout everyone else down -- this is a hard thing to communicate.

Huh, that's such an interesting point. Like a polarized lens in a way. Who is right, who is wrong...?

I have been Very Fortunate,  
1. I grew up in the U$A
2. It was during a time of relative PEACE
3. My family was middle to upper middle class 
4. Education was there for the taking
5. I took it  ;) 
6. Physically, I am healthy as a Horse except for my eyes, but still pretty good.
7. Very little adversity... (so far)
So I said all of that to say this:  I Know It Is COMING.  Dad is 80, relatively good health but his aorta is a time bomb, could blow out at any time.  Mom is a mess, she calls it 'tremors' but it's worse.  You just know.  Daughter is married, no kids yet but what a world to bring them into. smh
Sonny boy is doing well, no GF currently but when would he have the time? Working killer OT in the Bakken.  He was on pace for over $100k but started around Mar last year.  Hoping he can hold up to those hours! 
Socially there are Lots of Land Mines for this country. Friggin Deep State and then again lots of folks can't really trust the POTUS and I know some who have really tried.  I guess I just live on faith as far as our collective future, but by my nature, I am, and remain, prepared.  PEACE
